could this be the year both rhys williams and jedinak get promoted to the epl? Middlesborough coming third without their captain and palace not far off...

+1 Hope so.
3rd and 4th place at the moment but its only a third of the way into the season so far.

You would expect both of them to easily keep their starting spot if they got promoted too.
The championship is always so exciting when theres Aussies involved :d

I thought Bouzanis was back at Sydney or am i mistaken?

Mistaken, he's the top GK for Oldham.

A much better result. Rostyn Griffiths hasn't quite taken off the way he would have hoped. Good to see Zullo and McGrath on the bench.

Dylan McGowan getting on the pitch is another positive as well as Brosque and Bresciano banging them in.

I doubt that. Cisak much better with bouzanis only getting chance through injury to Cisak.

But Cisak hasn't been injured for quite awhile now. Bouzanis is keeping him out on form

I thout Kerem Bulut plays in the turkish league now?

he came back when he couldn't get game time.

Turkish football isn't very good to be honest mind you.

surely better than the czech republic league though?

Its an interesting question. Amusingly on soccerwiki.com the top turkish teams are rated as highly as the top bundesliga teams.

Troisi came from the turkish league and was dominating at the end of last season and while he is slowly working his way into the serie a, one comment in a newspaper that struck me was "he needs to stop playing turkish football and adapt to the italian mentality 5/10". Jedinak also went from turkey to the championship and I personally believe that the championship developed his game which leads me to suspect that championship > turkey. If someone had of dominated the championship the way troisi did the turkish league they would probably be almost as effective in the premier league

having said that I can't remember too many aussies coming from the czech republic so its hard to compare...

I hesitate to presume that's because Turkey's league, like a few in Europe, have 'historically' had a big gulf between their 'Top 3' or 'Istanbul Clubs' - Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce not unlike the gap between Celtic and Rangers and the rest of the SPL, back in the day, or what not - Even at the top with Barca and Madrid these days in la liga. Certainly, in terms of reputation and European success, that's the case. Trabzonspor is the one club I can see who've won a few titles amongst their domination and still challenges somewhat, but the rest all fight for the rest, pretty much - including the clubs all our Aussies have been at, Jedinak, Troisi, Carle, Djite and the lot of them. Only Gulum is at Besiktas now, but not sure how he's going.

So what I'm trying to say is, like Celtic the other day, and like Gala and co in the CL historically - You can inter-change the big clubs of Europe and they play in their own league called 'The Champions League' but domestically they more often than not dominate their competition rivals. But you could take Gala, Besiktas or Fener and put them in the Bundesliga and they could compete quite well. Just as you could take Celtic and Rangers (back in the day) and put them in the EPL, as some proposed, and they would be quite competitive mid-table clubs (Probably lower-mid table now, as the EPL has strengthened).

Babalj needs to get the hell off that bench.

Do you know if McKay is being played in central midfield on on the left VOR?

I think it'll be a while before Babalj nails down a spot. Teams in Europe don't play youngsters as much as they used to. Players need to do their 'apprenticeships' these days. Which sucks but what can you do.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Some of these long range shots Oar and Sarota are taking deserve to go in! I've seen them hit so many this season and they just miss by inches. I want one of them to go in damn it!

Oar, Sarota and of course Jedinak are all capable of longer range shots. Need to see more of it in the national team.

It's probably worth subscribing to that channel. Hopefully he/she uploads highlights every week.
