Looks like the new manager has seen enough, I don't know who we can flog him off too. Not many clubs beating down the door for Rogic, geez there's been more interest in Efe Ambrose from decent clubs and he is the worst defender to ever play for Celtic. Just as I thought Rogic was in a good club scenario for him. Rodgers is a good coach. I wonder where Rogic is coming up short for him - if indeed he is? probably in the last 30 minutes. there's some questions about him in the middle of a 433. rogic is not very well rounded and would need to defend better.

Christ wept , we've got three at the back with Ambrose there. This is going to end in tears.

I couldn't work out what formation he was going with. 3 CB's + Roberts and Tierney playing as wingbacks. 3 or 5 man defence depending on how you see things. I have no idea what is happening in midfield though.

celtic looking good for an early sub. if its not rogic im out. Transfer conspiracy theories aside, I'm not surprised Rogic isn't being used yet. The lad is made of glass and that artificial surface hardly looks like the best place for him to be playing half fit.

I didn't see the goal but Rogic did good stuff. Surely Rogers will see that.

Why are Rogers and Celtic fans talking up this result? Celtic should be beating teams like this even if it's an away game. A draw isn't a win and I hate to see people celebrate draws.

Because for us, winning any away game in Europe is an absolute rarity. It is an objectively good result for us against a team that was in last years Champions League Group stage. FC Astana aren't mugs, Benfica, Atletico and Galatasary couldn't beat them in Kazakhstan and we are still in pre-season. Last time we went to Kazakhstan on an artificial surface we got pumped. You can talk all you want about the quality of opposition but winning away in the Champions League qualifiers is extraordinarily hard.

I've been away for 6 weeks or so, been following a bit overseas but not as much as usual, question more for melbourne terrace and other Celtic fans.
Does Rogic not fit into Rodgers system? Does he think Rogic isn't good enough? Tom was one of Celtic's best last season and Delia seemed to really like him. What is it?

What is it? rodgers is playing 3 in the middle. that means you need a well rounded three. rogic is pretty useless in defence and transition. he is only just starting to put work in. rodgers also like to play fairly high tempo, which requires fitness/stamina. something that rogic is lacking. rogic goes missing in games and when you only have 3 in midfield it hurts. lennon tried to work rogic as a deep sitting midfielder - probably just because of his size - and it was a failure. probably had a lot to do with his injuries.

Probably the best spot for Rogers to put Rogic is as second striker beside Griffiths.

Nice summary. RE: The part in BOLD, Rogic has improved in those two departments, especially defensively.
