Massimo looked pretty good.

Not bad mate, looks more composed and got the full 90. It looks like he would prefer to get further forward, but he doesn't look much improved in that part of his game and seems to suit the fulcrum deep role. Put in some decent tackles as well.

Put on a good show, just needs more game time so those strikes hit the target.

He was the stand out player from both sides in the second half . Few nice moves , couple of strikes from outside the box and he tracked back a few times (mind you barca made about 9 subs in the second ) . Everyone is getting concerned about Rogers not starting tommy but maybe he is managing his fitness in preseason with knowledge of his past history, I remember reading last season the staff had to give Tom a different preseason to the others because of how his body reacts to the heavy work load

Note he also wore the captains arm band after a few subs late in the game, thats a sign of his importance yeah ?

Langerak had a full game for Stuttgart in a 3-1 friendly win over Greuther Furth from Buli.2.

Brad Smith started and played until the 86th minute on debut for Bournemouth in their 1-0 friendly win over Cardiff City, while Callum Elder also started and came off in the 81st minute for Brentford in their friendly draw with Millwall, hopefully both staking their claims as first choice LB now. Federici keeping a clean sheet in his full match in the Bournemouth win.

In other friendlies, Luongo had a full match in QPR's 2-0 win over Watford, Degenek played the first 75 minutes in a 0-0 draw against first tier team Freiburg, Jedinak played until the 82nd minute in a friendly loss at Fulham, Bailey Wright got a full match in PNE's 0-0 draw away to Bolton, DDS playing the second half in a 0-0 draw at Birmingham City, Aiden O'Neill came on for Burnley in the 84th minute in a 1-3 win against Rangers, Cisak kept a clean sheet in the first 66 minutes of the match for Leyton Orient in their 2-0 win, and Dougall started in a 2-2 draw with NAC Breda.

In China, Sainsbury got a full match in a 3-2 loss away to Shanghai Shenhua, while Ryan McGowan played the first half in a loss to Evergrande. Bruce Djite had his debut for Suwon FC in Korea, coming on at the 65 minute mark, while his new teammate Leijer is still suspended after that Red. Mrcela had a full match in a 0-2 win for Jeonnam, Paartalu again not making his matchday squad, nor did any of Burns, Celeski or Velaphi in Japan. In the Scottish League Cup, Mcdonald played until the 88th minute and scored in a 0-3 win, Ryan Edwards played the first 52 minutes in his Partick Thistle's win, Jesse Curran came on in the 80th minute in Dundee FC's 7-0 win over a fourth tier team, and Lennox rode the pine.

Luc Jeggo got himself a goal in his 85 minutes' gametime in the Norwegian 2nd tier.

A 19 lad from Sydney by the name of Milislav Popovic debuted for FC Koln II in the German fourth tier in a loss to Borussia Dortmund II. IIRC he trialled at Lazio Primavera during Ikon's time there, or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

so is callum elder another lb? we have now gersbach, elder, smith, behich, davidson and dougall all getting time at reasonable levels in that position. When it rains it pours!
Wonder if kruse will be played at rb? If so that would really sure up that position and hopefully lyden gets time there too

Aiden O'Neill played a full match in a Burnley friendly against Bolton and was apparently hugely impressive in the midfield only a few days ago and then was given a few minutes against Rangers. Looks like an exciting prospect at only 17.

Forget about Davidson and Behich, they are not good enough. Davidson has not improved his positional sense and simply gets caught out of position too much and Behich is just crap. Goodwin might come into consideration as well, but even if not if Smith, Elder and Gersbach get lots of game time this season then it does look very exciting at LB going into the future.

has the qpr changed boss? luongo seemed to have more freedom to move forward than last year. great news. i think he's his best as a box to box. last year several games i watched he was clearly given instruction not to cross the half way line. great for his defensive skill building, but a shame considering his attacking capacity. really good to see him forward and take a few shots last night.
