Ian Holloway signs on as manager for QPR.
Does anyone have an appraisal of how he sets his teams up, and if Luongo would benefit more from the system?

It is different for every team he has managed tbh.  More of a man motivator than a tactical mastermind.  He is a QPR legend though, that is why the extremely unpopular Les Ferdinand has hired him, which was to get the fans off his back essentially.  He has lead two teams to promotion though so that is a good sign.

Was back in Sydney playing GPS 1sts for Newington last winter I think.

Such a shame he didn't quite make the grade in germany its a tough place no doubt hopefully we can see him in the a-league one day if he's good enough, he's one of the new curriculum kids that has come through the system so hopefully we see more of these kind of players in the future.

Aussie playing in youth teams in Euro, get way to much attention  back in Aussie football community....you just have to look at the Australian under 17 team to see how little of those players ever to go on to play 1 game for soccerroos, to understand there chances are very low

it also now fair, on kids back in Australia

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Mitch Duke in an interesting position now in Japan. After doing his ACL earlier in the year was back on Shimizu's bench for a cup game midweek.

Shimizu have won 8 league games in a row and last night moved into the automatic promotion positions (on goal difference) to go back to the top flight. The last games are on Sunday and a win could even see them take the title.

Not sure how long Duke's contract is, but a good opportunity to move back to the JLeague if all goes well. Fingers crossed.

Corey Gamerio is the player who injured himself during a photo shoot and has never really recovered from there. I think it's been a massive loss. I reckon he be in the National team setup by now if he wasnt injured.

Wrong, it was the first ACL injury he suffered while on Olyroos duty in China, when he was in red-hot form for Sydney FC, that he has never really recovered from!

Does anyone know when the CSL gets underway? Spiranovic and Sainsbury should be monitored very carefully if they've not played much before the March qualifiers.

How long will Gersbach be in off season?

How long will Gersbach be in off season?

January could be big for all these lads.

spiro might not have to wait.  his shit form has helped his team into relegation.  he will need a new club.  but im guessing he will chase the dollars and end up in an oil league.

sainsbury has cup fixtures allegedly.  i hope he pulls his finger out and heads back to europe.  he improved rapidly at zwolle and has been stagnant in china.  he would be considering offers, i just hope there is one good enough to lure him away from the renminbi.

gersbach might get an offer or 2 in january after being part of the dominant team in the tippeligaen.  it will surely get cannibalised like any winning team in a 2nd/3rd string league that performs that well. pacey, youthful, successful.  these are very sought after traits.

Im sure crystal palace have or had a young aussie goalkeeper as well

dont forget birighitti at swansea. not as young but only 25 (a baby goalkeeper really) with bucketloads of raw talent and a fair amount of first team experience.  he's probably played more in the last 2 seasons than langerak, jones and ryan.

'Commanding' Jedinak backs up for Villa
36 minutes ago | by WIRES WITH SKY SPORTS | Source: AFP

Mile Jedinak played a full match as he and manager Steve Bruce continued his unbeaten run with Aston Villa, but they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton in Sky Bet Championship.

Nathan Baker headed Villa in front after 20 minutes on Friday night before the Seagulls pulled level through a fine Glenn Murray effort on the stroke of half-time.

Brighton may have dominated possession on the night, but it was Villa who had the of the better chances. Unfortunately for the away fans, though, they could not find another breakthrough and Bruce added a third draw to his three wins from six games in charge.

TVZ @TheVillaZone TVZ @TheVillaZone
Huge credit to Jedinak who travelled 12,000 miles over the international break and still managed to put in a great performance #avfc

Friska Viljor

- been two seasons at Blackburn Rovers

Sebastian Usai from Australia's Friska Viljor new goalkeeper. 26-year-old has merit from Blackburn Rovers when the club were in the Premier League. "Sebastian has an impressive resume and his credentials has given us a very good picture of his personality," said FV's sporting director Josip Pavic to the club's website.

Sebastian Usai guarding Healthy wills goals next season.

Englishman Andrew Mills left the Healthy Wills for IFK Östersund in Division 2. Z-folded club, which fell from the Division 2 Norrland year, is continuing to invest in a foreign goalkeeper.

26-year-old Sebastian Usai, who grew up in Brisbane, scoring four matches with North Country Queen Fury in the A-League (the top league in Australia) before it was Blackburn who was then a club in the Premier League. Usai did not get the chance in the first team, but played in the reserve team during his two years in England.

Sebastian Usai was in Sweden for six months in 2013. He represented the Division 1-team AFC United from Stockholm.

He got in touch with Healthy Wills through a good friend and former teammate from England.

- He recommended me to them. I began to speak with the club and was impressed by their ambition and professionalism, says Sebastian Usai to FV's website.

This year he has been guarding the goal for Brisbane Strikers in the second league. They won the series and went on to the national qualifying game to the A-League where they went out in the semifinals.

So here describes himself Sebastian Usai as a goalkeeper:

- I am a goalkeeper who is trying to be a leader on and off the field. I'm good with his feet.

Sebastian Usai arrive in Ornskoldsvik in early January.

ing.Federici starting, Smith bench
Ikon and Amini starting.
Leckie starting.
Jeggo starting, important game.

90 mins for Behich. 3rd on the table for the time being.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
