So some people are confused about why Palm beach were chosen for the APL and questioning Ben Mannion's motives, so i have sent him a couple of emails and he has responded, unfortunately i cant just quote or directly send you what he has sent me so i will summarise what he has said to me through numbered points.

1- The assessment panel had a list of criteria that bids had to present as part of the application.
2- He was not part of the panel and had nothing to do with the decision.
3- He has freinds on the Gold Coast Football bid.
4- Football Queensland has the goal of having a A-league team on the Gold Coast one day.
5- The FFA made it clear during the APL process that no zones are allowed to run representative programs and Football Gold Coast had to demonstrate that.
6-The assessment panel had to score each section and when you put them side by side, one stood out to the panel.

He said whether its Palm beach or another consortium gold coast will hopefully be in the position to put forward a bid by 2016 to rejoin the A-Leauge.
