Definitely. More kids will have the opportunity to work under a more professional environment compared to what is provided at association level.

Our young CB Dylan Fox has been picked up by the Wellington Phoenix on a 2 year deal, couldn't think of a kid who deserves it more. We have also lost fellow defender Ben Spruce who has been at the club since 2010, moving overseas aswell as Tadrosse and possibly Reece Caira we are looking short at the back 4.

No excuses though, knowing our coaching staff will most likely find a few guns.

Robbie got offered big bucks by Mounties & Marconi but will be staying, wants to hit the 100 goal mark, currently on 84 i believe.

Marconi offered Dylan Fox kid who just got signed by Wellington huge cash to play for them LOL.

I haven't heard anything about that. Wouldnt mind if we did.

Quote:
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT - SYNTHETIC PITCH FOR ILINDEN SPORTS CENTRE
Last night was an historic night for our Club, Football in the City of Rockdale and Football in the proud St George District as a whole.
Councillors, led by Mayor Bill Saravinovski, Deputy Mayor Michael Naji and Councillor Peter Poulos, put forward a motion to proceed with, as a priority, 2 Synthetic pitches in the Rockdale Council area, Ilinden Sports Centre and Arncliffe Park, with the motion getting up 7-5 (For: Saravinovski, Naji, Poulos, Tsounis, Kalligas, P Sedrak and Bezic, Against: O'Brien, MacDonald, Hanna, Barlow and Awada. Absent were Councillors L Sedrak, Ibrahim and Mickovski).
This decision further reaffirms Rockdale City Suns as the premier Club in the St George Region, but furthermore, recognises the investment made by past generations of Club members, sponsors, fans, committee, coaches, parents and players, to get the Club to where it is today, the premier Football complex in the St George Region.
While the investment will benefit our Club, the investment will also hugely benefit the St George Association as well, and all of the Clubs that play within the St George Association. Ilinden Sports Centre already plays host to St George Association finals, with the venue used free of charge by the Association this year and in previous years to host Finals matches, as well as FFA Cup qualification matches involving Association Clubs. The potential further benefit of this investment into the health, wellbeing and footballing community of the St George Region, and in particular, the Rockdale City Council residents, is immense.
While a large amount of work still remains to be finalised before construction can commence, we would hope that construction could begin at the end of the 2016 football season and be completed before the beginning of the 2017 season.
The Club recognises the efforts of the current committee, as well as previous committee members that have been involved with helping to get this project to this stage. The project has been vigorously pursued at Local Council, State and Federal Government for a number of years, with all parties involved recognising the need for the investment.
Later that night, a rescission motion was put forward for consideration by a small number of councillors against the decision, which will be dealt with at the next meeting in a fortnight’s time. We would hope that the desire of the majority of the council will again be reaffirmed and the project can speedily get underway.

From Rockdale's facebook

If it went ahead, that'd mean the only clubs left in the NPL1 with a turf field would be Bonnyrigg, South Coast, Parramatta and Olympic.

I get why clubs are moving to synthetic pitches, even though they're not cheap, it works out better in the long run in terms of maintenance and upkeep. I prefer games on grass though.

Giannaros going around again? With Stav back next season and Nikas having the freedom to control games without Triantis butting in, United will be fine. Payne a massive addition up front. Think the biggest problem lays in defence.

no idea about him, hopefully he is gone.

Yeah, I agree, heard the Haydars could be finishing up too.
