Just on Joffa, I think people forget he came in as part of the TWGF campouts. If anyone thinks he spams now they should have seen him before.

The reason why Coys thread was locked tonight is because we have an attendance thread already, not because it was a troll thread.

Must you always show such a flagrant disregard for forum rules?

This is borderline "This forum is a joke" thread. Joffa gives us more info than we could ever ask for, and he works his ass off to make sure there are not duplicates.
The guy does a bang up job really.

Which is why I provided my view point on Joffa's other contributions to the forum rather than his moderating ability.

The issue here isn't in Joffa's ability to moderate. That's not in any way in question.
The issue is how he goes about his subsequent posting of articles as an alternate news source for the site.

God speed, good sir. Exactly, however sometimes there can be too many articles - they tend to quell rather than promote discussion. In many ways i would prefer there to be only a single article as the OP of a thread and then allow discussion to flow from it. When that slows down add another article if it proffers a different point of view for further discussion. When there is more than 1 article in a row I do not read any of it or add my thoughts.

Everyone should know the rules by now, if there's duplicate content, only Joffa's thread stays open

Just to add to that, I've noticed that sometimes you post articles in the matchday threads, and then the same articles are posted in their own thread by someone else and generate some discussion. Would it be okay if these threads are left open? I generally only go into the matchday threads of my own team, and even then I just skim read the articles.

Fredsta, Thanks for your feedback, the thread in which I posted the Rojas article advising of MV attempting to re sign him is directly related to that article. The opening news article states that Rojas is set to move overseas within the next eighteen months and possibly as soon as the January transfer window. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=78830&p=1Edited by Joffa: 30/12/2012 04:34:34 PM

Largely I'm a fan of your work Joffa, however....
We know you love posting articles consecutively (even when more often than not it's not conducive to any form of discussion) in a bid to knock afro off the top poster perch, nothing wrong with that. But it's ridiculous to expect everyone to keep up to date/interest with your spamming, I've seen a few threads now that I thought made interesting enough topics but before I can go and weigh in with my two cents I see you've locked the thread because you've already raced off to post the article elsewhere.
I know, first world problems or what ever, but my point is that you continually post articles in threads where they're remotely relevant but it's rarely ever conducive to any form of discussion seeing as you continually bombard said threads until you run out of ammo, and when a legitimate thread dedicated to an interesting piece of news pops up you close it because it's been lost in the swarm of media spam you've already laid down.
For example Roarz' thread about negotiations with Rojas, I know the forum is full of Rojas hype threads at the moment and it's getting tiring, but a topic about MV attempting to tie him down to the HAL for another season or two seemed like a piece of general interest news worthy of decent discussion, yet you lock it because it's lost in another hype thread as one of three articles you've contributed.
I'm not intending to sound like a dick but I just thought there's been a few times where a thread with the potential to create a good discussion point has been closed because apparently you've already posted it amongst your daily spam quota, and more often than not the articles go unnoticed because people want to read comments and opinions from other users in certain threads, not consecutive media posts. Food for thought maybe.
