Gonna have to keep a close eye on this. Innisfail doesn't seem too bad but I still know lots of people in the Mackay/Townsville/Ingham regions.

Just to back my point up, (and sorry to hijack the thread of sorts) this is GFS accumulated precip for Sydney for the next 7 days. I've never seen anything like it before, but I guarantee on the next run it will be nothing like that. At least I hope not! EDIT: It's actually like this up and down almost the entire eastern seaboard! http://forecasts.bsch.au.com/tmp/apf18_init-2013012300z_fcst-z_APF_aus__.pngEdited by toffeeAU: 23/1/2013 05:44:52 PM

Not sure what model he's basing his stuff off (looks like GFS but not sure), but in my experience the models tend to overestimate big events like these. At least that's what i've found in NSW during El Nino.
Can't say I follow QLD weather though, but damn that is a lot of water.
Hopefully the monsoon season starting can finally channel some moisture down into NSW and Vic. I hate El Nino :x

Such an Aussie. "Western Peninsula is going to get nailed".. I'm heading up that way for 10 days in February. Hopefully no cyclones then.
