Introduction of a new facility at Belmore Sports Ground and Peter Moore Field

posted by on March 25, 2013

At Belmore Sports Ground today and with the presence of the Hon Tony Burke, the Mayor of Canterbury Council Mr Brian Robson, the Canterbury Bulldogs and Directors of Sydney Olympic Football Club the new facility for the Arts and for Sport in Sydney was introduced.

The project involves the creation of three initial facilities. Firstly, a designated pathway would details the story of the engagement in the arts and in sport from indigenous Australian through the many waves of immigration from every continent and the Pacific. Secondly, an architect designed building at the southern end of Belmore Sports Ground which would feature a visual arts space and incorporating tiered seating for the field. Thirdly, an additional architect designed building at the southern end of Peter Moore Field which would incorporate a high ceiling multi-purpose arts space which would be utilised as a performance space and/or a visual arts space. Additional seating in this building would provide tiered seating and office/management facilities for our historic Club.

To view the full details on the projected new facilities for the Arts and Sport in Sydney please click on the document below.

Sydney Multicultural Arts and Sports Precinct

As the Hon Tony Burke noted, "Multiculturalism needs a home. And that home should be Belmore."
