So, Mariners and Wanderers have met or exceeded their targets. SFC and Victory are closing in on their respective targets. AU is closing in on a new club record number of memberships. Heart could still hit 6k by season start.
Tracking well, very well.
Hopefully we see jumps with the next updates from the likes of Phoenix, Glory and even Mariners, despite the latter achieving their target a while ago, they have surely added atleast a few more/few dozen more, members since (rbs any updates for us??
BTW 'Song' said the Jets have a counter in the 'HSG shop' in Newcastle? When he last posted about it a few pages back, he said the counter said '8,300 and something' but that was 2-3 weeks ago and even then it may've been 'dated', so seems the club is still growing at a reasonable rate, as R1 nears. They will surely add a few hundred more members atleast, by later this week?
Anyway, can 'Song' or any other Newcastle-based Jets fans (Pv4? Blackmac79? Any other Jets fans lurking here?) help confirm the membership number via the counter in that store, or atleast check where there figure is at?

AUFC have almost reached their highest membership number in the 10 years, just need a few hundred more.

A bit of input re Glory's membership - at the kit launch Jason Brewer (the CEO) mentioned that the club for this upcoming season has broken it's previous membership record, overtaking the one from either last season or the one before it. I doubt that figure has gone any further than 5.5k, if it has than I would be very surprised.

I take it from the fact that SFC hasn't updated in yonks that they're just processing all the ones from our fan day (Saturday) and the counter will update tomorrow morning when the working week resumes. I'm pretty damn confident that we can crack 10k before Friday and if not we will at the game, myself and another friend have been too lazy to get ours yet but will today and I'm sure there are others in the same boat. When we set that goal I thought it was a bit long-term goal, but full credit to the club they've gotten it bang on - now we just need to finally have a season worth supporting...
Pretty much no-one letting the side down now, only disappointment maybe is Heart and Brissy but even then they're staying solid, going to be an absolute cracker of a season. First A-league football on SBS will be tonight with the season preview, exciting times!

Not sure how or why you think that Brisbane having their largest amount of memberships ever is disappointing?

Oh mate - you seriously don't believe that?! #-o I know/have heard FAR WORSE - There are people who buy memberships to AFL games and never go, seem to buy them on a whim or because it's fashionable, and/or because they had the cash to throw around at that time. On the latter, atleast that's better than wasting it on some other kind of vice? :p For some it's like those who buy a 'Gym membership' but end up never going for kind of similar reasons! ;) Roar_Brisbane wrote:hitpehoaos wrote:sydneyfc1987 wrote:Roar_Brisbane wrote:I'm surprised Sydney FC haven't done more to take the Wanderers on. Its still a good number but I'm just surprised they haven't tried to win back this 'power struggle' with WSW. My word, it's ambitious alright! You should know the context - they only had a member level of 5-6k prior to ADP, so only two seasons ago! And EVEN THEN, that was an increase/club record on earlier seasons, admitted by the club itself/Stephan Kamasz, that their member levels had been even lower! They're increased by 2-2,500 on their previous record of last season and may push to the 11-12k mark, especially with additional packs during the season. The big test actually is how SFC go in 'Life after ADP'. Hopefully this shine, enthusiasm lasts and isn't some kind of building bubble. Obviously it's as much the Wanderers and their impact than ADP himself helping to drive this (It takes the threat of an outsider, to re-inforce the home front? ;) ). So hopefully that appeal, enthusiasm and drive continues, once ADP is long gone! Sure, ONLY 11-12 this season... but perhaps 13-15k next (Matching Wanderers)? Same too with Roar, perhaps ONLY a 'new club record' of 7-7.5k this season, but surely you guys will hit your 10k goal next season! The season after, depending on levels of success and follow up, IF SFC ARE 14-15k members, then hopefully they can push on to a few k more, they aren't 'topped out' yet, to not only push on beyond Wanderers cap, but FINALLY rival Melbourne Victory as another A-League side pushing the 20k mark! But ofcourse, they are only just hitting half that at the moment, so, baby steps! Edited by GloryPerth: 7/10/2013 05:44:31 PM

Today: Victory - 20,135 according to: http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/melbournevictorychillbilly wrote:Roar_Brisbane wrote:hitpehoaos wrote:sydneyfc1987 wrote:Roar_Brisbane wrote:I'm surprised Sydney FC haven't done more to take the Wanderers on. The being over ambitious method has been used over and over to repeated failure by the club. I'm not sure what you expected them to do to win the "power struggle". Goals revise up too, as targets are achieved/met. That's how it works. Let's be happy that they, like most of the teams, are building towards new club records, if they haven't exceeded them already Also, if you want an example of an ambitious target, arguably Roar's is, though they are striving well towards it, as a goal they could reach either during this season or second season. The same target is even more ambitious from AU, arguably 'over-ambitious' territory, but they too could build to that level, on proviso of strong gains and a success filled season. And atleast those clubs HAVE goals - Because in Glory's case, who knows?! Mind you the Glory CEO has recently said the club are nearing a new club record, so all good! Gallop predicts 100K members!!!!
FFA Chief Executive David Gallop said the sport's burgeoning popularity at a corporate level, exemplified by the securing of Harvey Norman as a sponsor for the free-to-air Friday night A-League match, holds football in good financial stead in 2014.
"We're forecasting a surplus for 2014 and for the first time we won't have a members deficit on the balance sheet," Gallop, who forecast the 10 A-League clubs will surpass the 100,000 member mark, told the AFR. "That's even before you talk about those one-off items."

I'm confused, just asked the lady on the phone about Glory's member number and she said a number which is around the mark that CEO Brewer announced weeks ago and which Joffa is still referencing here! I DID just ask her off the cuff and she responded without looking it up or what not, so dare I say both our info is 'dated' somewhat? LESS it's one of those things where their full memberships are one number and it's another larger number with all these 2-3 game packs I see they are offering on the site? :? Hopefully the CEO himself can confirm the latest number, via Twitter again? Surely they are over 5k now, including my recently confirmed membership! :p Anyone have a Twitter account so they can ask him? https://twitter.com/PGFC_CEO/robbos wrote:Gallop predicts 100K members!!!!

MIND YOU, we're already hitting 85k, so 90k just a few thousand away! 90k was on the 'higher end' of optimistic predictions even just a month or so ago, so impressive indeed! But making that extra 10k jump to 100? He's probably factoring in those mini-memberships or game packages that are offered in season, as clubs are starting to offer? If he's not, then he's still technically not wrong, given how the memberships have been tracking, AND he hasn't put a parameter on that target either - the 100k could be achieved entering into next off-season as they clubs seek to build on their marks. Where exactly did the fromthestands site get its update of 8902 for the Jerks? I imagine it'd be either correct or close to, as the club told me they were close to 9k, but I just haven't seen a definite number produced as of yet.
