He would be a solid signing IMO none of our young boys are ready to step up (midfield) and I think he has been a solid player for the heart and a suitable replacement for mass

I'm starting to worry about Mulvey to be honest. Releasing a player like Mass says a lot of things. It us that you want to change the culture of the club and the style of play... But he hasn't released many other players. Seems like a half arsed effort.
I'm expecting a very poor Brisbane this year. From what I've heard Massimo wants to return home so he can be with the rest of the family while he begins to raise his own. Yeah, I've heard that too. But does Mulvey's moves so far not concern you? Signing two loan players neither of whom he will likely keep (1 confirmed gone). Releasing a few squad players and possibly the club veteran who perfectly suits the club's recent style of play. And there is talk of signing rejects like wheelhouse and Thompson? The Link with Liam Miller is the only really positive thing so far. No I'm a fan of Magic Mike. :d Releasing Massimo is sign of good faith to a club legend. But I don't want him to go. Releasing Rocky was good. Not to fussed about releasing Fitzgerald he jumped ship as fast as possible. I liked Meyer but he can't play with Bes. Nijland looked quality in that first match but didn't live up to the hype. Wasn't focused mentally (missing his family perhaps?) Jurman \:d/ North: Excellent pick up. Lustica: Hopefully we can retain him. We all ready have enough young guys in the squad at the moment. Liftin, Yeboah, Lambadaridis, Brown, Brattan, Davies, Donachie, Halloran*,Dong-Hyun, Hingert (Hopefully Lustica [-o<) We've lost McKay, Paartalu and now Massimo. We need some older players in the centre of the park to help guide the other younger fellas. I agree, very happy with the releases/ signings. Lustica and Nijland on paper were great pickups, with a preseason, they would have been top quality a League players. North great signing. Wasn't a fan of Meyer, and I don't mind Massimo leaving either, although he was much improved this season still isn't the all round player we need in that position.

I'll take him, a hard worker who has never let his team down.

Same page said we were meant to sign Scholes a while ago and that didn't happen.
Massimo is sadly gone. But a few weeks back when we released a couple of players, we made no mention of Lustica. So I think it's safe to assume we're still in talks with him. Hopefully we can keep him.
We've lost a fair amount of experience in the midfield the past couple of season, So I do think we need one older player too come to the club on the cheap. But I don't really like Matt Thompson.
Besides isn't Mulvey in Costa Rica at the moment. Would be strange to announce a signing if our coach is on the other side of the world.

Hopefully this is now happening under Edwards, as it seems to be. For too long, even this past season, Glory have 'over-relied' on experience, not only to the detriment of bringing through the young West Aussies, but also to the detriment of results. Roar and co prove the formula of balance and even skewing slightly younger, in this exuberant and dynamic league. All the top teams this last few years have had this balance. It's a proven formula/blueprint.

Facebook page 'Brisbane till I Die' posted it and said he's rumoured to be a replacement if Massimo Murdocca leaves. He'd be decent backup IMO.
