Adam Taggart has rejected a trial offer from NAC Breda in the Eredivise and a trial offer from a team in the 2. Bundesliga in Germany (supposedly FSV Frankfurt). Taggart has one year left on his deal with the Jets and is keen to spend another season in the A-League in order to develop his game.

Although, he could still be tempted with at least two more European clubs interested in trailing the youngster who earned three socceroos caps in the East Asian Cup qualifying tournament.

It would be great if he signed a new contract with the jets. I hate seeing the leagues best young talent just walking out on a free.(training comp). For the euro clubs there isn't much difference between $120k training fee and $600k transfer. But 500k makes a big difference for an A League club. It would be nice if the players somewhat "repayed" the club that gave them the opportunity to play.

There is a big difference for the teams who are most likely after our youngsters.

Celtic, Dortmund, Newcastle United, Stuttgart, Are they really going to not sign a Rojas, Goods or Ryan because of $500k, I don't think so.

Thats all well and good for those teams, but what about all the other teams who have signed youngsters from us? Brugge, Gladbach, Dusseldorf, Utrecht, Red Star I can go on, but for these clubs 500k is a significant difference.

How do these trials work exactly? I mean, is there any harm in going over there to trial purely for the experience or do clubs see that as wasting their time?

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Still yet to see what all the fuss is about with Taggart? Han't been overly impressive for The Jets, and i'm surprised he is willing to stay because his game time has been fairly limited, You'd think it would be better for hiss development in Europe.

The third theory is that he is waiting to show his stuff at the u20 WC and in the hope that he might get interest from "bigger" clubs

such a promising striker. i expect him to be the main source of goals for the socceroos after brazil tbh. his runs are so smart, he works his gut off, he'll be a terrific player for the NT.

not entirely sure why he doesn't at least go and trial. who knows - the jerks might snag a transfer fee + loan back deal (amini/dortmund style) if they were lucky.

i imagine the only reason he's staying is he thinks the near 1-on-1 training he gets from heskey & bridges would be better for his game for another year.
