Did he have a stopover in Australia on the way through? Luis Enrique used to go surfing heaps an hour up the road from here in his days.
Maybe Chippers drove him on the bus!

Glad you brought this vital piece of information to my attention, Paladisious. I don't know what I would have done with the rest of my life if I didn't know it.
In other news, here's
a cat in a shark suit riding a roomba while chasing a duck
.
Paladisious, always there with the crucial scoops.
This is far more important. How does it not have its own thread?!

Efraín Antonio Araneda Estay is of Chilean decent, but he moved to Tahiti to work in the tourism industry. Once there, he started playing soccer at a local level and joined AS Dragon of Tahiti's First Division and was naturalized Tahitian and joined the national team.
Fernando Torres is a well known striker for Chelsea FC and for Spain's national team. He went to Tahiti on his honeymoon in 2007 when he was still playing in Atlético Madrid.
Efrain Araneda, also known as "Chico", was Torres' tour guide in the French Polynesian island. The largest island of the overseas country of the French Republic is also the most populous and tourism is the most significant industry. However, it is still not that large or populated, measuring 403.5 square miles, the island has less than 200,000 people. This is why four members of Tahiti's national team are family members, the Tehaus - Alvin, Lorenzo, Jonathan and Teonui Tehau. Most players have an actual job besides playing soccer for Tahiti's First Division, since tourism is the biggest industry and professional soccer players from the top leagues like to vacation in the small island, it makes sense that a Tahiti national player happened to also be their tour guide.
Soccerly
In fact, "Chico", pictured above, was a tour guide not only to Fernando Torres, but he also welcomed players like Gianluigi Buffon, Antonio Cassano and Ronaldo as they arrived to Tahiti's airport. Efrain reminisces the days he worked as a greeter at the airport and tour guide, he said "those days were wonderful. I used to greet people with a flower wreath when they arrived to the airport. I received Torres, took him to his hotel and took him back to the airport for his departure. In fact, I remember he left his honeymoon short because he had to go sign for Liverpool."
Efrain is not part of the 23 players in Tahiti's national team, but he is in Brazil as the 24th in case a player get's injured. He is conscious that his team are living a dream of playing against the top squads like La Roja in Maracaná. "We are aware that there's a huge difference between our team against the others. Our message is that we are here to enjoy our time and have respect for the others. I mean, we are not here to kick or injure other players."
