At a FFT meeting tonight some smaller junior club officials were elucidating what they thought were expensive fees for some VPL clubs in the state, $300 - $350.
This is compared to $160 to $200 for a country club I was associated with last year. It was disclosed that some clubs in some states, not even in elite programs, charge $3000 - $4000.
Junior clubs often charge about $60-$90 in Tasmania.
A FFT official claims this is the cheapest state to play football.
What are the costs at your club, or other clubs nearby?

$300 for seniors is average around the North Coast.
"$3000 for a non elite club", so they are just playing in the average Saturday morning league, how do they have any players?

BTW my seniors cost me around $300 this year also. But we've been doing heaps of work to raise some revenue, so we're working towards a less cost next season

TBH we were just going to go back to club because we just couldnt see the benefit but he is desperate to keep at it so we'll give him another season or 2. From what I here $2400 is pretty standard for sydney clubs. What did your old man used to pay for Newwie PL (I assume thats where you used to play)?

I played in the Newcastle Rep comp which was called the FYL until seniors in the Nbn state league. I've never had rego cost more than $400

In Melbourne fees for juniors range from $250 upto $3,200. The fees though generally reflect the players attitude to the game, the amount and quality coaching and the length of that coaching.
The $3,200 price tag belongs to South Melbourne and those boys have been going since October last year. Most are doing 3 to 4 nights a week training under coaches from Brazil.
The cheapest fees I know of for juniors have been Glen Eira SC and Monbulk S/C and they will have a dad coaching maybe he knows the game maybe he doesn't. The team will start preparation in late March and finish in early September. Maybe train twice a week dependant on weather and how many turn up.
Again SSF is in a similar situation parents paying from $200 to $1000.
In the mens game from VPL Seniors to most State 2 teams do not pay fees, the club pays.
Those that pay at most levels at around the $400 mark.
I suppose it comes down to what the player wants and can afford.
All I can say is that having my kids coached by an AFC B coach there is a world of difference to the well meaning Dad.

Son wants to play NPL next season. Talk is around 2 grand. Hard to get my head around that after never paying more than $4-500 previous.

I think I can confidentally say that Estates have the cheapest fees in Townsville (if not North Queensland). Majority of clubs in this region charge between $300 - $400, however we charge the bare minimum (the amount the club is charged to register a player with the association - usually $160 to $200 depending if it's juniors or seniors).
