Lampard scores a blinder. Poor defending to not apply the pressure when he stumbled.
I'd say it's all over now.

Yeah. It did cross the line, although it was mighty close, i cant really blame the linesman. Though the chelsea fans will if Everton score.

Hah. Howard so shit.
Quality marking on Drogba there from Everton. Only Chelsea player within 10 yards of the penalty spot, 6 Everton players there, none of them get close to Drogba.

Everton missed Jagielka something dreadful. He would have made the difference for them in that.

England lucky to be 2-0 up. Thought Gerrard had attempted a Xabi for the second. 2 assists for Stevie.
You can see why england dont work. So much hate. Liverpool absolutely hate man u yet stevie and rooney are expected to work well together. As if. Same with Lampard and Gerrard. Throw in john terry and Theo Walcott. Theres so much hate between players, its not supposed to work. It would defy psychology.

Yeah, for years you had the same problem with spain and Raul/Casillas v Iniesta/Xavi etc and now that's settled down now that Raul is gone and they're playing well. Perhaps it would be better for england for Lampard or Gerrard to stay on the sidelines.

Yeah NZ were great, lead the match three times, Italy never got going till the end, took the lead for the first time in 73rd minute.
Smeltz goal was a top finish, but he is not the best man to leave unmarked in the box from a freekick.
Killen was brilliant, dominant in the air, his first goal was a scorching header, very powerful. Did well to win a penalty and put it away.
Bertos was good, marked out of the game a lot but two assists from set pieces.
Moss had a good game despite conceding three.
Brockie looked lively, I wasn't keen on him playing but he produced a couple of good nutmegs, including against Pirlo.
Elliott was very good too. Mulligan very average as usual.
Amelia, Italy's keeper, absolute rubbish

 just watchin the replay at the moment. tevez saved penalty in the first half and keeper should have been sent. argentina had at least 3 clearcut chances that they somehow didn't score but ecuador have been controlling large periods too. what's the group standings? i'm gonna have a look. surely argentina will qualify

Uruguay drew 2-2 with Venezuela today. We had so many chances but it was still 1-0 to Venezuela in the 60th minute until finally Luis Suarez equalised. Diego Forlan then put u ahead in the 72nd minute but then 3 minutes later we concede a goal. Then in Injury time Diego Forlan all by himself in the penalty area and the keeper somehow saves it. FUCK i went mental!! lol This now leaves Uruguay in 6th FFS.
BTW Deportivo, Chile are looking very impressive atm. Looks like Brazil, Chile and Paraguay are automatically qualifying. 4th and 5th is gonna be a great fight between Argentina, Ecuador, uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia!!! Vamos La Celeste!!!

Yeah, Chile are in a great position ATM. A great generation of footballers(average age of the national team is 24, so they have lots of time to get even better), great manager in Marcelo Bielsa and the under 21's team is carving up in the Toulon Cup(little known tournament, but host's full strenght U21 teams from France, Portugal, Holland and Argentina). So far they are undefeated and meet France in the final.
Uruguay are a little strange. Good side(mix or youth and experienced veterans) and they play good foobtall. They just make stupid mistakes. They get silly bookings when not needed(as well as sendoffs#-o) and their decision making is pretty poor.
Argentina are fucked. They would have been amongst the favourites to win the World Cup, but Maradona has no idea how to manage players. They have the most talented squad in South America(in the top 5 in the world IMO), yet their players play at 50% whilst in the NT. You can see the confidence is low ATM(you'd be depressed too if you manager didnt know what he was doing...except to spewing anecdotes after anecdotes).
England should organise a friendly now, just for bragging rights. #-o

Talking about Sendoffs, Grosetto played a Playoff overnight in Italy, and got FOUR red cards in the space of 30mins! On 4 seperate occasions! Incredible. Needless to say they lost 4-1, which sucks for Valeri.

I dont think the hate is really that bad between the players, I think that Rooney, JT and Gerrard get along fairly well

Yeah I agree. Uruguay play some very good football but just can't score. We had so many chances against Venezuela but somehow couldn't win! Also you are absolutely right, we get silly bookings and send offs. It's ridiculous. I think we got 5 yellows against Venezuela that could have been avoided. As for Argentina....    Maradona is absolutely useless and has no idea what he is doing!
