Quote:Key difference was that last year either none of the officials saw the incident clearly, or none of them had the balls to make the call... It's a bit hard to miss a fucking beachball on the pitch. The ref later admitted that he got the call wrong to allow the goal to stand. Wouldn't be surprised if one or both sides was reduced to 10 men by the end of the 90. Cards everywhere here.

Really really poor keeping from Mignolet. Shouldn't be getting beaten from there.

Very nice Suarez. GK should've done btter but he did brilliantly to get into that position in the first place, and gave it a fair old whack too.
Shouldn't throw it away from here.

Mensah put his hands around Suarez as he got away. As soon as he did that it was a foul. And as soon as it's a foul, it's a red.

Called it. No surprise for Mensah with the red. Silly tackle.
Maxi on for Meireles who's been good today.

Not good to see Suarez limping off there. Hopefully it's just a touch of cramp.

good 3 points.... redeems for what happened last season away, professional performance, bright spark in Suarez, concerning to see him go off late but optimisitic... keeping up the charge late in the season, two on the trot in the league
how good is that new Suarez song, it's cracking... love the peno' celebrations

With the International break it's good timing... hopefully he wont go away with Uruguay and it's just a slight problem so he'll be back before our next game.
Sorry Benj - some good signs early on but it just didn't eventuate for your lot.

Solid if unspectacular performance. Would have been better if we didn't need a leg up from the ref to get going. PLenty of positives to take from the game with how Suarez and Carroll worked together and they'll hopefully go from strength to strength but it's worrying to see Suarez limping off late on there - especially wiht the luck our recent #7's have had.

Penalty given against us, then ref changes his mind, and books the scummy blue bastard for diving :D:D:D

Sorry Benj - some good signs early on but it just didn't eventuate for your lot. Piss poor performance to be honest. Once Rico went off we didn't have anyone to play off Gyan. Elmohamedy should have come on with Welbeck moved up front, rather than trying to stick Steeeeed in behind Gyan. Mobility = zero. Goalscoring threat even less!! I think Bruce has done a good job but some of his decisions astound me. Anyway, one more tough game to go then it's our 'comfortable' run in to mid-table mediocrity.

Would always hope for more than 1 from 18, but with that run, can't cry too much. Man Citeh away next, but then... Play the bottom 5 teams in our last 7 games, plus Fulham at our place and Bolton away. I'd hope there's at least 10 points in that lot.

As I said with Andy Carroll a while back, he has just switched between two massive clubs during a season after having a poor run of injuries and form, is in a completely new environment with new players, staff and pressures and is not playing at his best. Add to that he has to adapt to not playing that often with Drogba leading the line, so tbh I think he's done brilliantly already. Quote:And yet Chelsea only scored once Drogba came on and Torres went off. The only thing Drogba added was the free kick delivery, for me Zhirkov changed the game more than they did

Gotta love that David Luiz has scored more goals for Chelsea than Torres has. Quote:The only thing Drogba added was the free kick delivery, for me Zhirkov changed the game more than they did That doesn't really change that Torres was quiet all game, had half a dozen touches and Chelsea improved when he went off.
