My S2 died on me today so I need a new phone
Open to all suggestions at this stage but:
On a plan with Optus/Telstra
Don't really like IPhones so I'd prefer something Android
Go :)

if you can deal with less apps, Nokia's Windows Phones are actually amazing.

I would say iPhone but people would rage if I did. It's just because I am so used to it's features and have all my stuff organised on it.

Is there are difference between the One and One x? (Im guessing the One is newer) Yeah they both look good, leaning towards the HTC because I wanna try something different having had a Galaxy before

Do not go for the One X, is crap when compared to the S3, let alone One/S4.
I currently have the One, and it really is amazing. Would take it over the S4 everyday of the week as Sense> Touchwiz imo.

If you aren't a little girl get a Note 2. Make sure to get an otterbox case to go with it.

The S4 is definitely the best phone on the market at the moment. About the only thing it doesn't do is wipe my arse for me.

I wouldnt know the full difference between the One X and the One. I thought the One X was the later version? I may be wrong, but whichever one my cousin has is pretty damn good.

What ever you buy, make sure you can add a microSD card, remove the battery and has a flash with the camera.

Look if you want the best phone then be a drone and get an S4. However there are some really great phones out on the market with different functions and designs worth looking into.
I'm a Sony Xperia S user and this is a great phone, though its battery life leaves something to be desired when using the camera, internet, making calls and using the GPS it can die in as little as 4 hours.
However the fact that the media player uses a high def Bravia engine, the picture quality and video are amazing.
12.0 Meg camera and 32 gig of internal storage (though no expandable memory available.)
The Z has a removable storage memory up to 64gig and a 13.1 meg camera and a 5 inch screen

$670 to $710 depending on which model and where you get it from.

afromanGT wrote:There are different models of the S4? When I checked the site of the store I bought my new phone from I saw differente prices and what looked like different models. I'll go check again. Okay, it was network branding that was the difference, as well as something called the S4 Active.

Do people here buy their phones outright?
I always just go plan, and either get the phone for "free" in said plan or add on a certain amount of $ per month to pay off the phone (depends how big/small the plan is)

But that's mainly because I have specific needs for a specific device so I usually end up importing/unlocking my phone. -PB

I change phones too often to commit to a contract that includes a phone. There's too much value in some SIM only plans to make commuting to a 2 year contract worthless.

I buy mine outright, just because the cap I've always used suits me fine and is cheap as.
Also bought it outright because I was taking it overseas and needed it unlocked.
