It is possible, plenty of "need to know" business discussion happens on LinkedIn.

As for the ultimatum...I can't see the team performing under Holger against France and Canada. I'd be worried if it was France or Canada...as we might be in with a shot against the Maple Leafs :lol:

Also read this line in an article in the Daily Telegraph by Tom Smithies this morning:

"So when Osieck and David Gallop meet this week in Sydney, there is only one "road map" to the future that inspires any optimism."

Well at least the meeting is actually happening, something semi-substantial I'll give you that.

Here's hoping Thursday morning we know the outcome.

the scouting/hiring process would take at least 3 weeks you'd think. If they sacked him before the upcoming games, I'd imagine Vidmar would be put in as caretaker.

We need a desperate change ASAP. Not after these friendlies.

You'd hope that the FFA would have the successor already well lined up and even IF that is failing, then a solid plan B. Don't want to go sacking, then be left struggling or more likely overly delayed in finding a replacement. Mind you, just to be difficult (as we all rightly are) - don't want a 'rush job' either. Due process should already be under way in the event of some form of early departure.

It would be imperative that the new coach could be appointed and brought in ASAP - He and his new team will need all the prep they can get. It won't even be like the 'Hiddink-scenario' - Hiddink would've had that bit more time and experience with the team, especially via the baptism of the two play offs. That experience already made him legend and bonded the team.

This successor would arguably have a much, much more tougher time of it. Literally just a few friendlies to familiarise themselves and the team. Forced largely to utilise the same group of players, for most part, with natural minor adjustments here and there.

Though even with minor (though actually massive) changes - like Davidson supported at LB, McGowan partnering Neill... Rogic promoted - that would be enough. We still remember the tweaks Hiddink employed to really shake up this squad. Including the shock of starting Kalac over Schwarzer for the crucial game against Croatia, as too starting Wilkshire at RM from Japan onward, literally out of the blue.

Not advocating Hiddink per say and as some have said, he may not chance/want it and even if he did, you rarely perfectly replicate past moments twice - as some have said, the conditions and context, this time, could be seen as being quite different, even more challenging.

But Hiddink was a master motivator, organiser and even disciplinarian and whoever it could be, he would need to be similarly. The team will need to be put to task, learn their roles quick smart. Stick to it, refine. Everybody knows their place, what's demanded of them. Nobody's position is safe. Everybody on equal footing, has a chance. 'The next Luke Wilkshires' could still come through.
