What should happen to the NPL development teams after this season? What about the boys that have shown their ability to step up to that level and has the coaching that has been provided been fair or second class compared to the NPL 1 teams. Has there been real development that has occurred.[-x [-x [-x
also these boys will be playing next year in the BJL!!!!! Is this really fair what is wrong with the BPL, considering the boys have been playing in the top league then they will be 2 divisions down and their games will regress or they will drop out of the sport altogether. Good work FQ and FB!!!!=d> =d> =d> =d>

What is a NPL Development Team?

Is it a 'B' side junior team?

The NPL development teams was set up to act as a shadow team to assist the NPL teams in case of injuries etc. It was put into place for the junior level not for senior teams. The kids were identified as being talented and were apart of the elite level of players for their age. The NPL were made up of SAP players as well as rep players. Not all rep players made the NPL teams as some were in the NPL Development teams.

The nplv as proposed by the clubs version, will also have nplv 2 teams. these will assist with additional fees, reserve players for the npl1 team and compete with npl2 teams from nplv clubs. It is hard to imagine how a nplv2 comp will be arranged in time for 2014 season when most proposed nplv clubs (vpl etc.. the 'clubs" version) only have one "a" team and are currently or shortly doing tryouts for next year without really knowing how many players they need......

My understanding is that (in the Victorian clubs model) NPL will be a rebranded VPL, with 2 additional regional sides added; and the NPL2 will be a rebranded State 1, also with 2 additional regional sides added.

The u21 league will remain unchanged - the second teams of all of the above.

I presume you mean the vpl will be rebranded npl... that will not be a big transition at the senior level as there is not much change. My point was more about the large change needed for the junior program (u12-u18) where there will have to be an A team and a reserve team, if clubs don't have these teams now, it may be a big ask to get coaches and players in time...

Sounds like Victoria are ahead of QLD as they are removing all NPL development teams and putting them automatically down 2 divisions and only having 1 team, and no shadow team. Football Brisbane will not allow these clubs to have their BPL licence back to put these kids into the BPL.( Brisbane premier league). Problem comes if the club selector doesn't like your child , like one of the boys in the u/13 npl development teams in brisbane, even though they gained selection in a u/15 rep side before they turned 13 this year and is know as the best defender in his age group in the NPL he gets sent 2 divisions down. I really feel very sorry for this kid in my sons team as he always gives 300% , and deserves a spot in the NPL. I guess it will be another clubs gain because I doubt he and his family will return to his club for 2014.
