SOME SA club chiefs have opposed Adelaide United and Enfield City's satellite club agreement after the Blair Athol-based club was heavily sanctioned.

Enfield was on Wednesday night docked a total of 60 points and fined $10,000 after FFSA found discrepancies with some 'Professional Player Contracts.'

But Enfield secretary Karen Thomas said the club was lodging an appeal against the sanctions and was in constant dialogue with Adelaide officials and the proposed satellite club agreement.

FFSA and Football Federation Australia have not sanctioned the proposed marriage of clubs.

"FFSA does not have the best interests of this club at heart," Thomas said yesterday declaring some state league club chiefs had endorsed the proposed clubs satellite status.

"Maybe some have forgot why they are involved in the game in the first place...children and development. If egos could disappear the game would be in a better place."

According to FFSA's memo to club chairman and presidents the club was sanctioned after eight Enfield players "did not meet the definition of an amateur player based on club player payment agreements."

The sanctions mean relegated Enfield will go into the FFSA record books with minus 20 points on the final 2013 home-and-away premiership table.

It will start next year's state league with minus 30 points.

FFSA chief executive Michael Carter confirmed the sanction and FFSA and FFA were not in favour of the satellite club agreement.

Carter said Perth Glory and Newcastle Jets were the ideal models for A-League clubs wishing to participate in the national premier league.

Glory on Wednesday revealed it was granted participation as Perth Glory in WA's NPL.

In essence it means Glory's youth side will play in the competition while its underage sides will be chosen via the state's pathway programs in conjunction with Football West.

Glory also proposed a satellite club agreement in WA a few years ago but the move failed to emulate.

Adelaide football director Michael Petrillo said the club was working through the satellite club process.

Petrillo said the club would meet FFSA and Football federation Australia officials to discuss the satellite club agreement.

"The problem is the SA national premier leagues have an agreement to 2016 which says no other club can come in the competition," he said.
