He's a 16 year-old who doesn't look out of place at A-League level. There aren't many 16 year-olds who can do that.
Has shown he is an exciting prospect last season. Played well off the bench towards the tail end.

Has shown he is an exciting prospect last season. Played well off the bench towards the tail end. More specifically, he is a 16 year old whose technical ability is above average for the A-League.

Cred is in the toilet already, why bother? -PB Because everyone's cred is in the toilet  Why would we disregard a media outlet who are at the very least reporting rumours from within football circles. They've been a Mixed bag so far (with some massive errors), I say they've proven some worth at the very least and they provide us with stuff to talk about.

Just to add some extra info to the rumour for those interested. According to the show: - The transfer and fee is subject to a 10 day trial - There's actually another OS club interested - De Silva has a clause in his contract that gives his father the final say when it comes to transfers - His father isn't interested in any overseas offers unless it's from Spain

Oh btw Quote:Daniel da Silva''s dad declines Italy's $1m, prefers Spain THE family of Perth Glory teen sensation Daniel De Silva is understood to have knocked backed an offer of $1 million from Serie A club Catania. It is believed the Sicily-based club, which is running 16th in the Serie A, made a concerted play for De Silva, 16, last week following glowing reports about the attacking midfielder's progress with the Australian Joeys (under 17s) and Glory. But while Perth Glory owner Tony Sage was ready to accept the stunning offer, De Silva's father was not so keen to see his son move to Italy, preferring him to end up in Spain. De Silva has yet to make his starting debut for Glory. He came on as a substitute in four games last season for a total of 88 minutes. He became the second youngster player to play in the A-League when he made his debut at the age of 15 against Sydney FC. He was a 71st minute replacement in Perth's 3-1 loss to Adelaide in its opening game of the season on Sunday and is expected to get good game time this season. The talented youngster made a name for himself during the under 17s World Youth Cup in Turkey earlier this year, scoring a goal in the 1-1 draw against Colombia and earning rave reviews. It is believed a number of high-profile European clubs were interested in him following that tournament. - See more at: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/football/daniel-da-silvas-dad-declines-italys-1m-prefers-spain/story-fn63e0vj-1226739884413#sthash.u7G35kyU.dpuf On chan 7 news they reported that Tony SAge said Glory would hold a press conference if a genuine bid came along,

If he starts to make an impact at the glory, by January that figure could be closer to $2million if they can get a bidding war going.

I would have thought de Silva isnt Argentinian enough for Catania I think you'll find a lot of bids occur outside the windows, or at least informal ones. The windows are only for registration.

A certain Brisbane Roar player who left last January had his transfer sorted before the season had even begun.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sage said he was letting De Silva go for free because the club "didn't want to stand in the way of his dreams".

I'd be pretty pissed off too if I signed a new contract to stay with the coach, only to see him up and leave...

True he was only 16 at the U20 World Cup, but he didn't dominate Cmulbia like everyone on here seemed to think he did. To be honest, I'm probably just as excited by Martin Lo at the Wanderers.
