If there is 1 consolation with smfc missing the GF -> it's that we will not add 5,000 to Heart's attendance number on the day

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article VPL grand final stage for A-League deal??
BENTLEIGH Greens forward Ryan de Vries is aiming to impress in the Victorian Premier League grand final this weekend as he chases his dream of an A-League contract.

Have your say.

And thankgod we don't have to hear south melbourne supporters saying that the reason we get a good crowd on saturday is because of them

5,000 less supporters complaining they got robbed by the ref after losing 5-0 to Bentleigh.

A day without Hellas anywhere near AAMI Park and the A-League is a great day, cant wait.

still glad Heart's attendance will be 5,000 spectators poorer regardless of what they get on the day

Oh and south will be there in spirit as smfc tried to purchase both the licences that will be on the field on game day -> 2 licences signed in lead rather than ink I might add

I predict 7,000 fans max

Smfc will not be given an A league license
You know why.
NSL is dead and no one except for 99% of Greek comunitity who support Hellas are disappointed about it.

It's good to see a young fella like that at least got invited to NZ for a trial with the Nix. As far as I'm concerned we should be looking more at such players. Good vision EM.

Can I just ask a question of those knowledgable fans out there. If an Australian plays for say the Nix does that mean he is taking up a visa spot? And correct me are there only five visa spots in a team, including the "marque" spot. And conversely I presume it works the other way around or Kiwi's in Aussie franchises. Finally does a "Asian" marque come under a visa spot as well?

keith... correct. there are 5 international spots on each roster, so as NZ is home of the Nix, Australians count as marquees, an vice versa. this mean rojas, for example, was an international player for mvfc last year, but wasnt when he played for the nix. asian players dont mean anything different in the a-league, but in the ACL teams are allowed 3 international + 1 asian international.

Incorrect.

Wellington can select Australians (as they are in the Australian league) and New Zealanders (as they are a New Zealand side) as 'local'/non-visa players... The other 9 A-League teams can only pick Aussies as non-visa, with the likes of McGlinchy taking up a visa spot at the Mariners.

This is one of the issues that the AFC get upset about Wellington's involvement - that they play by a different set of rules to the rest of the comp.
