I agree that the squad has declined in quality over the years, which is Fergie's fault, but you should never underestimate the impact he had in United's success, or the way rivals feared United because of Fergie's presence. United would absolutely still be fighting for the title if Fergie hadn't have stepped down imo, I feel sorry for Moyes though because the reality is that Fergie held this squad together, and now he's gone the cracks have well and truly been exposed and I don't think anyone at the club was ready for the fallout of that.
