Oh yes, the Vic govt will give no thought to the FFA Cup, the NPL or anything to do with our game in their decision making.
If the qualifiers aren’t in place yet, they will likely just say Vic team 1, Vic team 2 etc.

2021 NPL NSW season set to be cancelled as NPL Victoria match commentators Neal Symons and Michael Thompson mentioned it on Sunday morning during Kickoff Football show on Southern FM at about 13.18 into the show as that puts the 2021 FFA Cup and 2021 NPL national finals in serious question marks now as well. https://omny.fm/shows/southern-sport/kick-off-august-1st-2021

I have received a big update from Russ Gibbs - NPL ACT commentator reckons it will struggle to even see FFA Cup at all this year due to the lockdown in Sydney and border closures applied right across the country.
As also 13 clubs are affected in the firing line (5 A League, 5 Football NSW, 2 Northern NSW, and 1 ACT).
NSW teams are also banned from travelling to ACT so APIA Leichhardt Tigers wouldn’t be able got come and play Cooma Tigers in Canberra.
Also with likelihood that both NSW and maybe Victoria are facing unlikely to finish their NPL seasons he can’t see FFA Cup national rounds or NPL National Finals series taking place.

Heard NPL NSW most likely shut down for the year. VIC remains to be seen if they can snap out of lockdown soon.
Can’t see FFA cup going ahead at all. Have the 2 AL play off games which were meant to be played around now.

That surely ends the FFA Cup 2021 also. Possibility of Victoria following suit depending on how the next week or two of lockdown goes.

+xHost the whole tournament in Perth ffs If the WA government allowes us to travel over there and we don't have to quarantine for 2 weeks coming back to Melbourne Im game for the trip .... why not? Not fair for the lads in NPL teams that are trying to hold down full time work at the same time otherwise..... Oh and the scumbags at FA have to give us a share of the gate takings too ....

Terrible for Victorian football. Practically missed out a full year of football in 2020. 4 or 5 games behind on current schedule in NPL I think.

Meanwhile, in the real world tens of thousands of cases a day (despite high rates of vaccination), tens of deaths a day, no lockdowns, life back to normal, and football with crowds is all systems go.

I have a very bad feeling that NPL Northern NSW could well be the next NPL competition to cancel its season following this week's announcement of NPL NSW pulling the pin following its board meeting on Wednesday as the whole of NSW is in lockdown from 5pm today.

I reckon FFA Cup should not be happening this year and not go ahead imo despite them announcing schedule last week this is because 21 clubs (9 A League clubs & 12 NPL clubs) are in lockdown and border closures in New South Wales, Victoria, ACT, and New Zealand.
ACT - lockdown extended til Friday September 17th 11.59pm New South Wales - (Sydney) lockdown extended til Thursday September 30th 11.59pm, (regional NSW), lockdown extended til Friday September 10th 11.59pm Victoria - lockdown extended til Thursday September 23rd 11.59pm (regional maybe let out next week)

I reckon FFA Cup is on the brink of being cancelled for the 2nd year in a row but Football Australia aren't keen to publicly cancel the tournament until they absolutely have to, so I doubt we'll get an announcement for another month or so.
Given currently 12 NPL clubs (1 ACT, 2 Newcastle, 4 Victoria, and 5 Sydney) are either in lockdown or season has been officially cancelled plus interstate travel border restrictions.
Also their are multiple state federations have officially cancelled the season (New South Wales and Victoria) or suspended the season (NPL Northern NSW and NPL ACT) i simply cannot see it happening you have 21 clubs (9 A League clubs and 12 NPL clubs) are banned from even leaving the state or New Zealand.
