I'd expect a fair few SFC fans from across Sydney to come along because it's against Victory. I'll probably head down for that reason.

There's a fair few Sydney FC supporters who live in the Inner West, and on the Balmain peninsula. Sydney FC pre-season friendlies at Leichhardt generally pull a good couple of thousand, so I don't think it'll be a bad atmosphere. There's also a pub within walking distance of the ground, and you're only a 5 minute drive from the pubs of Rozelle and Balmain.

Speaking to a few people at work last night, most of whom are pretty rusted on Wests supporters, most have no to little interest in 'soccer', most sounded rather interested and keen for it. I've already had a few people ask me on facebook when the match is on and where. So I daresay it's kicked up a little interest. :) I wanna see backdoor benny on kebab duty.

OP updated :) Stoked that Balmain are at Leichhardt Oval. Even more special that the game is being televised. I am literally giddy with excitement now. I'll probably go to a game on every matchday. Blacktown on MD1, Rockdale, MD2, Balmain, MD3 and maybe Central Coast away on MD4. Maybe Newcastle.

Perfect draw for WSW, allows for a week in camp and friendly in Coffs the week before the match against Roar.

This allows us to get representation for M80 banners all over national TV. Do it.

Shit house. No one wants to see Sorrento vs Sydney at an empty NIB and WSW v Brisbane is another boring choice. Fox and FFA seems to be insisting on having their Sydney teams featured. Broadmeadow vs Heidleberg is a good old fashioned #effnikrivalry that would have some passion going (not to mention Heidleberg are doing very well in the NPLV) and Sydney United vs South Hobart is a rematch of the 2013 NPL final. Even Adelaide vs Darwin would be more interesting just for the novelty of the Northern Territories participation (even if it is a flogging).

What's the best way to get to Leichhardt Oval by public transport from the airport/Mascot station?

Sorrento game is very strange to show. nib will be empty. Darwin are playing at home and will be knocked out first game but it would have been fun to see. I would hate to find out that fox chipped in for PB and Sorrento to move their matches. Lets hope that didnt happen. Like I said in the other thread , Sfc will probably win. Then you run the risk of seeing them again in the next round. Sydney people can get to a game so this match doesnt need to be shown. I would have Perth SC , that way you still get a WA team on tv. Brisbane I can understand as their is real chance all 3 Brisbane teams will be knocked out away. South Melbourne I can understand because they may get knocked out, however this is the same as Sfc, if they win and draw an A-league we will probably see them 2 rounds in a row. Finally WTF are they playing at now. We have games at nib, cbus, leichhardt and probably parramatta. not really suburban grounds.
