Probably take the train to Central and then a bus to the ground itself.

The tram/light rail line from Central looks like it goes quite close, or is that a waste of time?

Yep in fact the tram is a good option - buses tend to come more regularly but if you get the times right the light rail works well.

Yep in fact the tram is a good option - buses tend to come more regularly but if you get the times right the light rail works well.

The nearest tram stop would be North Leichhardt - a 5 minute walk from the ground. Google Maps says 10 minutes.

That's fairly simple. Just jump on the tram outside Central Station, and let it take you round the scenic tour of Sydney's current only tram line via The Star, the Fish Markets, Glebe, and North Annandale. Hop off, cross the City West link, up onto Perry St/Balmain Rd, and then walk down Mary Street.

Alternatively you can jump on a Rozelle-bound 440 bus from Railway Square on George St. That will drop you on Balmain Road, and you can walk down either Mary Street or or Glover Street. Mary Street is probably easier, as that's probably the only gate that's open. I doubt they'll open the Glover Street gate.

However, I'm happy to meet you at Central Station (and any other Melbourne m80s that are making the trip up!) and we can go drinking at the Orange Grove hotel, which is about 10 minutes further down the road.

I'll be on a flight landing in Sydney at 4:30pm however, but that should leave just enough time.

Going overseas for the whole of August.

Gutted that SU and WSW got the August games but at least i can get to Blacktown for the July match.

Really hoping that both teams get up and don't get scheduled for the late August fixtures.

Yeah it's a bit disappointing but I think that's the cost of making the cup finish earlier in the year to help the state league teams. Last year the quarter finals were spread across four Tuesdays but that isn't possible with the final in November.

I'm not sure. They changed to show more r32 matches.
Last year they played over 3 weeks.
You can do it over 2 weeks (Tuesdays and Wednesdays or 1 double header if in wa)

So it actually turns out the player of the week gets a "Slice of Cheese stubby" as an award.

Hahaha. That's pretty neat.

I wonder if that's a legit brew, or if it's a stubby of a regular beer, and they've just slapped a 'slice of cheese' label on the front. It could be some blokes homebrew too. :-k

Shit house. No one wants to see Sorrento vs Sydney at an empty NIB and WSW v Brisbane is another boring choice. Fox and FFA seems to be insisting on having their Sydney teams featured.

Broadmeadow vs Heidleberg is a good old fashioned #effnikrivalry that would have some passion going (not to mention Heidleberg are doing very well in the NPLV) and Sydney United vs South Hobart is a rematch of the 2013 NPL final. Even Adelaide vs Darwin would be more interesting just for the novelty of the Northern Territories participation (even if it is a flogging).

Hey Guys,

Tommy Hyde from Balmain FC, just a quick note to let you know tickets are now on sale for our FFA cup game against Melbourne Victory: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/BalmainTigersFCvsMelbourne

$10 general admission (plus $1.50 online booking fee) and free entry for under 10's. Tickets will also be available on the night, at the gate, for $10. Hopefully we can get a decent crowd down at Leichhardt and create a great atmosphere.

Also the team and I love reading this forum and we appreciate the support so far (especially you Heineken, you legend!)

:)

Cheers
Tom
