Would it be even better for Hume to move it to Epping or Knights Stadium or darebin and that way the hosting club gets a small slice of dosh as well (food+drink+venue hire while Hume keep gate takings)?

TBH I reckon Fox Sports would prefer it to be at ABD Stadium for the more romantic TV product and lower capacity meaning more people tuning in. Mind you it'd be cheaper for them to set up a broadcast from AAMI Park with everything already in place.

If Hume City wish to play it at AAMI Park to maximise revenue then it's hard to begrudge them that. I'll be there regardless obv.

I don't blame them but I think a move to another ground in North or west Melbourne would be far more appropriate. Moving a semi final to AAMI Park is honestly just giving up for a cash grab and does not sit right for me. Even a VFL Oval would sit better for me than the home ground of their opposition.

If they have to move, Epping Stadium would be my choice. It's got enough space for 10k, is only 20 minutes away from their broady ground and is easy enough for Fox Sports to do their thing.

I thought the security & home fans actually handles the flares well.
Every time one was lit, someone would escort them down the front and was handed to security.
Just goes to show they can add atmosphere in a safe environment when there isn’t overkill by the authorities.

Whilst I agree, I wouldn't begrudge Hume from getting a healthy financial boost by the increased numbers at AAMI Park. Not to mention there may be a bit of arm twisting from Fox Sports to use the facilities at AAMI Park.

Had a ripper of a time. Souvas, Terracing, ethnic bants and winding up city fans in the stands. It has to be said that the match day experience at A-League Venues doesn't come close to the suburban grounds.

A Hume vs Victory game at AAMI Park would be a awful. Sure it's good for the club but the point of the Cup was getting A-League clubs out to suburban grounds.

I think he is struggling with the irony of seeing the fans of two broad based clubs start a fight between each other at a game that an ethnic club was hosting.

Response time is far too delayed. Crowd figures and viewing numbers go up and there is no way to rub it in.

Really glad the grandstand didn't go up in flames with the amount of flares they let off :lol:

Great night out at Heidelberg and a great atmosphere. If Velaphi didn't get a hand to that tap in for Heidelberg in the first half the game could have played out differently. Hopefully if Hume is the "Home" team then they get the choice to either play it at their ground or move it to AAMI for a better financial outcome. Part of the attraction of cup ties around the world is for the smaller teams to get a chance to play in front of a large crowd at the bigger stadiums as it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of them.

Talk on the facebook pages is that city and victory fans started to have fights after the game. Doesn't matter who started what. (City fans claim it was victory but who cares) this isn't green street hooligans. Pull your heads in... You wonder why we have to deal with stupid things like banning marches and tifos etc ... because a small group of idiots think hey lets be all tough....
