Talk on the facebook pages is that city and victory fans started to have fights after the game. Doesn't matter who started what. (City fans claim it was victory but who cares) this isn't green street hooligans. Pull your heads in... You wonder why we have to deal with stupid things like banning marches and tifos etc ... because a small group of idiots think hey lets be all tough....

APART FROM THAT

How good has this FFA cup been. Good to see Hume still in it. Heidelberg last night packed to the brim and more. This competition will grow and grow as the years go by. Hopefully the city boys can win some silverwear

Another fantastic night for the comp.

Did I hear correctly that our game against Hume could be at AAMI?

Last I heard it be a hume home game at aami with hume getting the gate. Would rather a crowd of 10,000+ then a little sold out one at hume.

Hopefully if Hume is the "Home" team then they get the choice to either play it at their ground or move it to AAMI for a better financial outcome. Part of the attraction of cup ties around the world is for the smaller teams to get a chance to play in front of a large crowd at the bigger stadiums as it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of them.

Great night out at Heidelberg and a great atmosphere. If Velaphi didn't get a hand to that tap in for Heidelberg in the first half the game could have played out differently. Glad we drew Hume in the semis though and not City, a derby final would be massive. Here's a couple of shitty pics, just taken off my phone:

I think he is struggling with the irony of seeing the fans of two broad based clubs start a fight between each other at a game that an ethnic club was hosting.

Had a ripper of a time. Souvas, Terracing, ethnic bants and winding up city fans in the stands. It has to be said that the match day experience at A-League Venues doesn't come close to the suburban grounds.

A Hume vs Victory game at AAMI Park would be a awful. Sure it's good for the club but the point of the Cup was getting A-League clubs out to suburban grounds.

Whilst I agree, I wouldn't begrudge Hume from getting a healthy financial boost by the increased numbers at AAMI Park. Not to mention there may be a bit of arm twisting from Fox Sports to use the facilities at AAMI Park.

I thought the security & home fans actually handles the flares well.
Every time one was lit, someone would escort them down the front and was handed to security.
Just goes to show they can add atmosphere in a safe environment when there isn’t overkill by the authorities.

Maybe we can learn a thing or two from these ethniks aye Paulc ;)

I don't blame them but I think a move to another ground in North or west Melbourne would be far more appropriate. Moving a semi final to AAMI Park is honestly just giving up for a cash grab and does not sit right for me. Even a VFL Oval would sit better for me than the home ground of their opposition.

If they have to move, Epping Stadium would be my choice. It's got enough space for 10k, is only 20 minutes away from their broady ground and is easy enough for Fox Sports to do their thing.

TBH I reckon Fox Sports would prefer it to be at ABD Stadium for the more romantic TV product and lower capacity meaning more people tuning in. Mind you it'd be cheaper for them to set up a broadcast from AAMI Park with everything already in place.

If Hume City wish to play it at AAMI Park to maximise revenue then it's hard to begrudge them that. I'll be there regardless obv.

Would it be even better for Hume to move it to Epping or Knights Stadium or darebin and that way the hosting club gets a small slice of dosh as well (food+drink+venue hire while Hume keep gate takings)?

Would get 10,000 at Epping and Hume would also get the dosh from food sales as well, in fact they used Epping as a home ground in 2012.

Would more then 10,000 turn up to aami? Hume wouldn't be much of a draw card compared to Adelaide, IMO keep it in the suburbs but at a venue where you can get 10k,. Epping the logical choice.

It's been too long since I've had an authentic Souvo. Marrickville's just too far out of the way for me. : lol:

If you're like me and was fidgeting like a kid with ADHD about not getting your paws wrapped around some authentic effnick food, never fear. I hereby declare this thread an official effnick food discussion point.

I'm going to make my own souvlaki. With blackjack, and hookers, and Ouzo.

Just done a quick google of them - found out there was one in Gladesville on Victoria Road. I vaguely remember driving past it a few times a few years ago. Apparently they were open from 2008-2011. I honestly don't remember them being open for that long, obviously they were exactly eye-catching.
