Not that I've seen the full article, but from the headline and the preview I googled it looks like a preview of the round awaiting the Greens, which is great because Melbourne media pumping up games beforehand, rather than just match reports afterwards at best, is a rare treat for Australian football, even for the A-League. Massive. Hence why I posted it. Shows a significant shift in the mentality of corporate media.

The flight over is easy enough, it's having to go through Melton on the V/Line that puts people off.

Right. You want magic of the fucking cup?!!! How about a 6-6 draw???? I give you Dagenham & Redbridge he lost on penalties to Brentdord, after the scores were locked at 4-4, after 90 minutes, and 6-6 after 120. And that's a mighty fucking impressive own goal at 0:21. Edited by Heineken: 14/8/2014 01:17:38 AM

It'd be great if, once we expand the regional qualification next season, that we make the A-League clubs join at a RO64. That'd make the Cup go right through the season and keep us entertained.

Obviously he can't play for United in future cup fixtures and technically he is contracted to City (NYL player at United) but he really should only be able to be named by one club in a cup comp. I'm sure it had been cleared before he kitted up for City but I wonder how much City would have missed him if Valkanis/Marti had given him even a second last week. Youre only cup tied if you play. If he didnt get on the pitch then there's no issue

As much as i live a good scrappy game in the rain at a shithole stadium, I'd be thinking twice about going with weather like that. Thanks heaps. Wiki is updated. My OCD is back in check :)

He is confused cos you wrote 2 and not 4 next to south springy But they scored two goals? In reference to the tiers, not goals.

Heineken wrote:TheSelectFew wrote:Timmo wrote:BBB wrote:Attendances for all 4 matches? The Adelaide City versus Wanderers match attendance was 2701 Yeah But Sydney united and blacktown? Given the conditions I don't think there were too many people at either. From the pictures I've seen of both games, and the limited footage I watched, there might have been a few hundred people at each - all huddled inside the grandstand trying to avoid the driving rain. I'd say the crowd at United was between 1000-1500. Probably closer to 1000. There was a couple hundred on the opposite side of the grandstand who braved the elements for close proximity to the bar and a bit of banter. The grandstand looked about 3 quarters full. While the 5000 club (glassed off area inside the grandstand) had the usual 100/200 oldies. Havent heard anything official from the club yet though.

bomberboy wrote:Abbas and Keogh joint top scorers with 2 Another fun fact. Corey Gamerio now has 7 goals in 5 pre-season turnouts for us. 2 goals vs. Macarthur 0 goals vs. Newcastle 2 goals vs West Ham 2 goals vs Bonnyrigg 1 goal vs Melbourne City. Hopefully he keeps this form up leading into the season.
