What a little rat. Can we utilise him against Middle Eastern opponents during the next qualifying phase?
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+x+x+xLet this be a lesson to all, gamesmanship gets you medals. An Adelaide player tries to murder a ten year old and Sydney are accused of gamesmanship. Sydney take part in the most entertaining FFA cup so far, yet "DA SYDNI ARE DA DA BORINGEST" Murder hahahahahahahaha Where is Mat Simon's red card for manhandling the Adelaide players. He should be charged with violent conduct and get a four week suspension. Obviously will be let off by the FFA because their back in favour at Oxford St.

+xI thought Kurz was going to choke Mat Simon during that ball kid moment! Anyway, he's a kid leave him alone, give the kid a jersey and deserved apology from Marrone and move on. He reminded me of the ball kid in Panama where he smashed the ball out of the stadium in their WCQ match lol And ban him from doing ball boy duties forever like he rightfully deserves.

Watching effective, one touch passing in possession, plus an effective high press in defence. God help the kid. Too bad he isn't watching some 60 year old Italian complain about crowds in Brisbane.

Sure, but wasn’t Ninkovic complaining about SFC crowds just today, Brosque and Arnie were complaining about crowds last season 😂
I’m sure our 60 year old Italian will be suitably impressed this Saturday night when around 10,000 will turn up to see the “treble” winners .... unless it’s raiming in Sydney that night of course

I have no idea who you are Waz, but you have to be the most ridiculous poster on this forum.
I don't think I've ever seen a post from you that doesn't involve some bitter (and usually ridiculously inaccurate) whinge about something or other.
Brisbane are shithouse, Sydney are the best team in Australia at the moment - cop it mate. Log off and make yourself a cup of tea. Hopefully that'll cheer you up.

In fairness, though I don't pay a huge amount of attention Waz is reasonable in a lot of things as far as I can tell, but Sydney definitely seems to be an issue for him. On the game, that was a great match. FFA cup final, end to end, fast flowing and attacking with passion, whats not to love?

These rest of the country hates how Sydney FC gets so many favours from the FFA plus playing Arnie ball. Smurfs always and will ever get a big crowd when playing the Wanderers at home or in a GF on a weekend away from home.

Just amazes me how people are excusing Marrone. Probably the most disgusting movement in the last 10 years of Australian football but it was probably a Sydney FC fan so who cares.

lol just saw the replay.
He did well to retain possession after the hit. He has a story to tell his grandkids one day now. If he comes out of the coma.
Not smart play. should have run around and tried to grab at the ball not the man.

@ sydneyfc
Unfortunately it’s overshadowing what was a good cup final. I still haven’t seen the actual footage so don’t know whether Marone is to blame, the ball boys to blame, or both.
The kid looks about 10 in the photos which is too young to be helping out at games like this, not to say he did anything wrong but one way or another he’s copping flack on social media which as we know gets out of hand.
What will be interesting is how the ffa handle the suspension. Bes cops two games for a push on an official do what does an incident with a ball boy deserve? More or less? Logically it’s less you’d think but less than 2??

There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

Ballboy sensed the defender lunging in at speed, quickly turned, made sure he put his body between defender and ball, drew the foul, red-card and penalty-kick. Textbook really.

It's worth pointing out that after the ball boy went to ground, the melee broke out and, when several Adelaide players attempted to get the ball off of him, he continued to refuse to hand it over.
Marrone will cop it, both with suspension and media scrutiny, and that's unfortunate, as the ball boy wont have to deal with squat. The kid knew what he was doing so he was fair game. Parents don't teach their children the lessons of karma and stoicism anymore. You're a ball boy in a cup final; you can waste time to help the home team, but if you get smacked in the face by a player, coach or fan, you should know you were asking for it, whether the retaliation is excessive or not. The fact that the ball boy was able to hold up the trophy with the Sydney players exemplifies the classless nature of this incident.
Well done to Sydney. They are a champion team and they play very effective football. It's a shame that their on-field success hasn't led to maximised crowd turnouts. I do think that, whilst it's taking a while, once other teams work them out, it will be back to the drawing board for a while, but until then, that's the challenge for the other nine A-League teams. Graham Arnold has done very well, but I'm adamant that he is not the appropriate person to replace Ange as the national team manager.
Looking forward to getting our players back. Bring on the league.

Looks like the usual "HAHAHAHA SYDNEY HAVE SHIT CROWD SO WHO CARES WHEN THEY WIN" or "SYDNEYFFA DEY GET ALL THE CALLS" mob are out in full force tonight so I wont get involved there. What I will say is what a farce on the ground some things were. Whats with the fireworks before kickoff? If I wanted that Id go to a Big Bash game. And what was with the signs "Magic of the Cup" on the seats on the far side and what was with that sign about the cup with the black thing about it that they were doing laps with at full time? Theyre trying so hard to pretend the FFA Cup is so meaning and special when its a short knockout cup that isnt too big in the schemes of things. Let it develop itself over the next few years or decades to actually get its own history rather than trying to pretend its big bash.

Im not sure what the FFA rules are but it will be interesting to see how big a ban he gets.
I wouldnt be surprised if it is 10 matches tbh. The ballboy should also be banned from that job.

Just another example of the pole reversal in society where kids are treated like the adults and with all the consequences, and adults are defended as delinquent little shits.
Maybe he did everything entirely wrong. Too bad. From the looks of things he has another 10 years to go until it's his responsibility. And quite frankly I'd rather my kid being loose with a football than ripping off cars and coming home pregnant.
