I am dearly hoping that the slices of cheese and tomato are allowed to be shown on YouTube this year. The more games televised the better.

Once the draw has been done, in the 22 days leading up to the kickoff of the Ro32, I'll be doing in-depth analysis of each and every 22 member federation club so we can all learn about them. Paulc will weep.

Guaranteed to get Perth and lose no matter how well we play

Off topic a wee bit. Does the US Open Cup work similar to ours? How do they determine the preliminary rounds?

Can't make much head or tail out of the Wikipedia, but it looks like the regional champions playoff for a qualification berth or something. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Lamar_Hunt_U.S._Open_Cup_qualification

Lots to learn from the US Open Cup, it is the third oldest running football competition in the world, after all. Their idea of a $15k prize for the highest finishing team from each level in the pyramid is a great one.

Speaking of which, I wonder when that's being released. I know I could probably figure out the stats for myself, but it'll be good to see it all merged together officially.

Question
Given the issue with LUX and stadiums should member teams who qualify for the round of 32 be given funding either by FFA or local/state/federal goverment to upgrade stadiums to meet these LUX requirements to host matches against either A-League or State league opposition in the FFA cup.
Im thinking given with a few teams a couple of consecutive years of qualification their facilities could reach a point where they are in a good position to work towards being a National 2nd division team.
Reward the clubs that qualify this far.

I'm all for that. I think it would help to show that the FFA are behind the smaller clubs and want to help them grow. If the money is there, that is. Maybe this would start with a new broadcast deal. But then again, would the FTA networks go for the Cup? It's hard enough getting the A-League on FTA, let alone a brand new comp.

The LUX requirement is mostly driven by TV. Why spend thousands of dollars to benefit the club for 1 game?
I do support an infrastructure funding model from the FFA, but lights are only a small part of that. And it shouldn't just be limited to FFA Cup entrants.
If you want to support FFA Cup entrants, simply increase the amount of prize money they get. Most clubs would invest it wisely.

from: Cockburn City Soccer Club,
Dalmatinac Park is close to the required specs needed to host round of 32 fixtures in the FFA Cup but would need to be added to if we were to host a game.

From: Floreat Athena,
No not enough lux if we get an A-League side. My understanding is that the only state domestic club that has enough lux is Dorrien Gardens.
