i've actually researched this 97% thing myself and concluded the actual amount of the sample of 'scientists'...and let me tell you it is a sample that voted for man made climate change... is actually far less than 97%.

that's just from deconstructing the questionnaire responses that were linked in the wiki article..was around 50% from memory and didnt take into account the number of scientists who actually didnt answer the question but were assumed to be in agreement because, wait for it,
they werent in disagreement

its pointless though explaining to you new age nutters. you're completely indoctrinated and lack the ability to accept something that contradicts everything you've ever been indoctrinated with via the mass media, Al Gore films, sloppy BBC docos as well as funded alarmists in universities

science doesnt even come into it anymore
great talking points, it's easy to say you've won when you reduce your opponents to a caricature of what you believe they are.

Haven't seen An Inconvenient truth for about 8 years when I was 13, don't think I remember much of it. Don't watch BBC docos or mainstream media (which is actually pretty 50/50 on the issue)

Edited by tbitm: 19/5/2014 05:19:11 PM

um that's pretty much what you alarmists do every time your pseudo science trickery is exposed
you label the rest of us right wing nutjobs.. religious nutters, tin foil, paranoid etc etc
then you align us with anti medicine, anti science, going back to the 1950's etc etc

obviously the timing of your indoctrination was young. an inconvenient truth at 13. its difficult to rollback that kind of programming.

Edited by ricecrackers: 19/5/2014 06:04:33 PM

But not believing scientists is anti science...

And you seem to think there's some sort of hidden agenda behind the scientists to trick people into believing in something that doesn't exist. That's pretty tin foil

Of course that's just projection, the only scientists that don't believe in climate change are the ones funded by big oil companies and people that actually do have a reason to spread the mis information that climate change doesn't exist.

Yes, believing the scientists on face value is indoctrination (though doing so is a pretty safe bet in most cases) but I don't think anyone here hasn't done their own research. We are on the internet, it's pretty easy to find what you want, then it just comes down to if you trust your sources, which I do.

mate, there's scientists and there's scientists
they're not all truthsayers and soothsayers

money plays a big part in all of this. that's the real world at work.

Al Gore is no kind of scientist either. He got a 'D' in Roger Revelle's class.

Al gore didn't do the research for his film though, all he did as present the evidence he had to raise awareness.

He did make decent coin from this of course, but I don't know what the overwhelming majority of the scientific community will get out of this.

What does Neil deGrasse Tyson or Bill Nye get out of endorsing this? They have very high reputations in the scientific community and I doubt they'd give this up over money they already have.

And compared to the fossil fuel industry who have a huge incentive to keep everyone int he dark, it isn't even close which side has more of an incentive to make money.

 lol no they dont

they get a lot of coin for their shillage too

the fossil fuel industry are actually profiteering out of it. the oil and gas industry that is, as they have all the power.
their competitor coal is out in the cold

look at how the taxes are structured, they are to the benefit of the oil and gas industry and coal is eliminated from the marketplace as non competitive

damn you have high standards, Neil degrasse Tyson only works at the Hayden planetarium at the museum of natural history and has a PHD in astrophysics.

Bill Nye was only a mechanical engineer at Boeing.

Nonetheless they are both some of the biggest scientific voices to the public hence I'm sure they want to remain credible and not sell out to money interests.

Firstly that article does not look at all reliable.

Secondly, youve still failed to explain what is wrong with the scientific method in explaining phenomena such as climate change.

Thirdly, you are proving my point that the science has been politicised to such a point that people now think they are entitled to an opinion on the matter rather than letting the science explain things properly

like i said, its a pointless exercise when the fanatical indoctrination is so deeply ingrained

i can put irrefutable proof of corruption in front of your eyes covering every possible angle but you'll still deny it and i dont have all year

time will prove me right

they're celebrities, they're not credible scientists and they're not climate scientists nor meteorologists.
they're not qualified to speak about climate related issues with any authority and yet they do so because they're paid to by networks who are sponsored by the same cabal that sponsors climate alarmism

they simply dispense glib half truths to the ignorant who think because something sounds right then it must be so
its a snake oil trick from the 19th century

like i said, a new one is born every minute

he's an actor acting like a climate scientist on television for kids - like you

They're fucking famous without talking about climate change you fucking idiot.

Atleast put on your tin hat and say they're gonna make big bucks off a solar panel industry or something.

Also, it's not an insult to call me a kid. Kids are much smarter than adults are when it comes to just about everything relevant in today's society.

so you whine about being insulted and now you call me a "fucking idiot". nice type you are.
just like all the other morons you're nothing more than a fanatical extremist.

there is megabucks in the climate change industry and its not just solar panels. they're small fry.
the cap and trade taxes are where the big dollars are at. its a boon for bankers as well as the oil/gas industry which is taxed at a lower rate than coal.

various NGOs and scientific studies with foregone conclusions are also a massive gravy train as the advertising budget is seen as an investment. furthermore a lot of it is paid for by governments, ie the taxpayer so the profiteers are getting some of it for free.

so naive are you.

Bill Nye has been widely discredited on various issues in the field of science. on climate change he's barely at elementary school level.

I've re-edited my post above. Cleared up a few things.

And I don't usually get pissy with people on the internet but you're one dumb motherfucker. Let's be honest, have you been 'nice' either, so don't act all offended like a typical right winger victim all of a sudden.

Any reports these guys are corrupt or should I just take yours and Alex jones word on this one?

FYI, I didn't "whine". You couldn't refute what I said and resorted to insults which is a sign that someone is losing an argument and I just pointed it out.

he's an actor acting like a climate scientist on television for kids - like you
in other words, no they don't make money off talking about it and you're full of shit.

Bill nye did that stupid creation debate and gave all the proceeds to charity. And you'd have to be fucking retarded to think he's getting paid to go on tv for interviews. Then again

You couldn't refute what I said and resorted to insults which is a sign that someone is losing an argument and I just pointed it out.

i couldnt refute what? that Bill Nye and Degrasse Tyson are credible on this subject?
turn it up

you dont know me, you cannot call me dumb. you disagree with a position i have because you've been indoctrinated and i havent.

now you're angry as thats usually the response of those whose whole education has been called into question. its quite shocking. like telling a 7 year old the tooth fairy doesnt exist i suppose.

and by the way, i didnt say either of these characters were corrupt. i said they're not credible scientists, particularly in the field of climate science. they're just paid to take a position on television. that isnt corruption however it is corrupting given its bad science.

Degrasse Tyson for example says science is fact that cant be questioned.
well that flies in the face of everything science is about. its not a religion.

everything should be questioned and now we have the university of queensland threatening legal action to cover up its lies about the 97%. if they were confident with their science they would release their methodology, but they wont. this has the potential to become another climate gate. why are you ignoring that? because it doesnt fit with what you've been lead to believe?

you'd rather bury your head in the sand because you like Bill Nye's tie, pathetic celebrity culture.

I'm glad you want to help us, but the thing is the future us humans are going to need to use renewable energy anyway. There's only so much oil and coal in the ground.

There's so many negatives with the way we get energy now that renewable is going to be the way of the future. The pollution in china is a reason why their parents are gonna have longer lives than their children, oil spills pollute our oceans so much to food chain is getting disrupted which affects us dramatically. There's a link between cancer rates and living near oil field, fracking gets into our underground water supplies and makes it undrinkable. I could go on.

So let's say your right about climate change, what's our solution? Probably the same as mine.

i'm all for reducing pollution
however the climate change lies and carbon taxes will not achieve it. its likely to make it worse.

nuclear energy will ultimately win out. i have no doubt, but it could take decades maybe even centuries.
there's still a lot of natural gas in the ground that hasnt been exploited and that could last several centuries.

currently there's more money to be made from natural gas than nuclear energy and thats what its all about

The hilarious thing is that when Abbott/Hockey want to fix Australia's future by fixing the economy the left jumps down their throats. And that's fixing things in a straightforward, practical way.

And get the left wants to tie our future to some nebulous global warming alarmism and believes that we are doomed.

Seriously, you couldn't make this shit up.

well as i said in another thread, they're complaining about the fuel excise when any rise in fuel costs will drive some to public transport
therefore good for the environment

they're not really a principled crowd at all, just supportive of the ALP or Greens like football teams
