If it's Roma, then I think it's a good move because they've been signing a lot of good young players and maybe they can develop together. Though it could be a while before we actually get to see him play in the first time.

Mind year this year at PG has been anything but great for him. The circus that it became I am sure he would be more than happy to take on a move to a club like Roma.

I wrote first time, well done for deciphering it. yeah exactly, PG have been terrible this year and he doesn't fit into that rubbish 'play style' at all, he would have been better served being at Roma reserves already.

I still find all this a little odd, since his Dad said he wouldn't go anywhere other than Spain.

Seems like big jump to me. History has shown us that the players who take baby steps out of the a league are the ones who have the most successful careers in the long run.
Guys like jedinak, kruse, leckie, Sarota and oar have built their careers slowly after playing domestically first.
Guys who have made a big jump too quickly have stalled, like langerak, amini, rogic etc.

If that transfer fee is real, then it certainly would be pushing the HAL record. Rostyn Griffiths went for around 1.3mil as well...

His dad said Spain or Italy were the only two countries they'd consider. Spain was first preference i think.
He'll be loaned back to Glory for next season in any case. I sure hope they get a decent coach who will play juniors. I know he's been a bit injured but DDS should have got a lot more gametime than he has this season.

And Spain is the 8th biggest producer of tomatoes, some of which are surely Roma tomatoes.

Interesting transfer fee is it a Aus/A-League Record? €900,000 = A$1,333,458, so just short of the record. Still a very good deal for a 17 year old who Glory get to keep for a season (even if they don't ever play him) though.

Apparently on the SMH article the whole transfer could go up to 2.5 Million  500 000 up front and the rest as bonuses so it could potentially smash the Aus record all up. Regardless of that good luck to the kid I'm still not that convinced he's that good for that money, he's no doubt talented but still so young and inexperienced at professional level so we just don't know if he's going to be that good in the future. I wish him all the best. He has the potential to be a top player one day.

They obviously rate him as a future player.

how is that even remotely close to Da Silva? Miller was a professional player for Celtic playing in the UCL.. when he went to ManU not some 17 year old kid whos barely played. ManU have been responsible for many of flops.
