I have been told by a friend of mine who works for the company that organizes the events for the A-League (she was recently part of the team that organized the Asian Cup draw) has it on good authority that Jason Derulo (insert auto-tune whining) will be performing at the 2014 A-League grand final. The only reason I'm putting it in the rumour mill is because I don't have a physical source for it. She's reputable, though. As for songs, or as to whether it's going to be pre-game, or half-time, I'm not sure as of yet.

Can't be any worse than meatloafs performance at the AFL gf a couple of years ago. God that was truly awful.

The second A-League grand final in Melbourne had The Presets. TBH this is the first time I've ever heard of Jason Derulo.

He's a huge, internationally renowned artist. Way better than Samantha Jade or something. Should be some great exposure if it comes off.

I was pretty impressed by the bands at both Melbourne Grand Finals. They were big acts at the time. What was funny though was that the crowd didn't really care very much. Is it even televised? I don't remember watching any pregame entrertainment in the non-Melbourne finals.

Why don't we just get Danny or whatever the fuck his name is from Channel V to hand the toilet seat to the winner ffs
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

I'm so glad we have a former Teen Choice Award winning 'musician' performing at the Grand Final. That's sure to get plenty of 16 year old girls into the sport. Also... Wat?

Will.i.am, Kylie Minogue, Ricki Martin or Joel Madden will be in Oz because of The Voice. Maybe they have some contractual arrangements that prevents them from doing anything other than being on the Voice or on Channel 9 but they would all have bigger commercial appeal than Jason Derulo.

Yeah....A-League grand final, better get the most bogan band we can find  Lost of sporting organisations these days are shying away from performers with live instruments like Guitar and drums performing at their showpiece events because they're one more thing that can go wrong and they're difficult to set up. Everyone's got their own opinion on who should perform and personally I don't give two shits about Jason Derulo and his autotuned crap, he sounds the same as everyone else these days. There's got to be an act out there that sounds vaguely unique. Hell, even MvFCArsenal's suggestion of Hilltop Hoods would be better. Also Pro Tip: ipods don't compress shit if you use the right file type. Use high fidelity wave and flac files to store your music. If you want to bring back warmth and character to your sound use a valve amp, not vinyl. The resurgence of vinyl is courtesy of the wannabe audiophile wanker.

Fuck me, are we trying to suggest even worse "musicians"? Who knows what the FFA are thinking but I can imagine they will try and get the best "commercial" artist with the money they have available. Hopefully that excludes any artist that has been "discovered" on Australian Idol/X Factor/The Voice. I am not saying I agree with the above but I am assuming that is what they will try and do. Foo Fighters would probably be my unrealistic pick.

Classic household name Aussie band.
-PB They'll literally play anywhere. They'd play Flinders Street Station's toilets if they think it'd get a crowd. Quote:Who was that american (iirc) NBL player who made a rap song. Get him & Selwyn togther. "That NBL player who made a rap song" "That sportsman with his own fashion label" "That model with her own perfume"

And even though there have been comments in this thread already about not wanting to get into a dick-measuring contest with the AFL, and NRL, it'd be a good little tick in our box. Also agree with another poster who said it'd be better than meatloaf. That was just beyond embarrassing.   Who's Jason Derulo?

They did have the menu song on 'This is Soccer 2004', which had the NSL in it

any news on this? i mentioned the rumour to a few mates of mine (female) and they were all suddenly keen on showing up to the final.
i love hot girls at sports. its literally one of the best things ever to see them walking through stadium amidst the chunky middle aged men and families. 3 cheers for sport sluts!

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
