Do what -p"l"b and/or afro said - make it so you need a certain number of posts before starting a new thread. Or make it so your first few posts need to be approved by someone, or something.

I have to go through life assuming the easy, sane & simple option is something that management will never, ever do.

If memory serves the idea was thrown about with the last prolific wave of spambots but dismissed on the grounds of not wanting to discourage new members from contributing. But I think the Pro's are starting to outweigh the Con's and with the forum as busy as it is these days it wont' take long for new members to rack up 25 posts.

Maybe they're being paid by this person/group.
Just seems weird that a real user on he gets banned quicker than these "bots" do.
