To clarify:

In the tie-breaking criteria, if it gets to most goals/assists in the whole tournament to decide it, only goals scored while a player has been on your team counts.

Example, JLM now has Messi, but Messi's goals in the group stage round don't count for JLM, As they weren't goals that were scored by him.
