Unbelievable only 10 memberships off from hitting the A-league target. Didn't think we would get there but the last couple of weeks have helped push it ever so close.

I think by tomorrow or Thursday the 110k target should be hit without issues.

The main issues that he seems to go on about are around corporate support and the ability to continue to grow significantly.

I agree that CCM have done an amazing job with building the club to where it has today, in the face of many challenges in the limited market it has.

I don't think football matches should be played at NSO until a drop in pitch is added at the minimum, but even then the stadium is just not up to standard. Brookvale at least offers a better overall football experience for fans and players, but its location may be more of a limiting factor to many I would think.

Ultimately, It just comes across as wanting to strengthen the fundamentals, likely to ensure he can sell it for a bigger amount in a few years. It will look far better with a larger catchment area to potential new investors and the corporate market at that point. I can't see him staying on for the long haul.

This may well be confirmed come http://www.A-League.com.au's update, due this Wednesday/Thurs or so, or will be so come Davo's table update shortly after. Davo's table includes more up-to-date or 'different' figures shared by some clubs over their Social Media. Maybe some clubs include Pet Memberships and A-League.com.au doesn't or something or maybe the clubs are just that much more up-to-date. Either way, the league inching closer! TBH The league hitting 110k or exceeding 100k was never in-doubt, given both the gains/tracking from last season and especially combined with Roar's phenomenal, well organised, early growth/head-start!



TBH You are both right/not wrong and as always, the reasons can be complicated and tap into wider debate discussion A-League fans have had over this during earlier years, prior to Northern-states/League wide boom, these last 2-3 seasons. Perth just slow on the trend or the odd-man out in a way, but same token you both are a little harsh and Glory still has and always seemed to have had a solid base around 5k or so for quite some well, during even an earlier A-League time when both Roar and SFC were around or even below this figure.

Many Glory fans and others have just suggested that all Glory needs is some sustained success, making them not too different from other long struggling clubs. But same time they've had that solid base built on additional history and with some success now (hopefully) they can continue to build towards their own club record and push beyond and then we too can look forward to a Glory boon, just as we've seen Roar and AU have their boon, these last couple seasons. Hopefully Glory's time is on the horizon, on AND off the field.

Granted memberships are cheaper than other HAL clubs but the level of support the Jerks receive still warrants a more professional and successful club

Edit: Infact, given Perthjay's post - I've attended some PG games at nib too, and haven't seen/noticed the membership number being promoted - so perhaps some form of milestone HAS been hit by the club? Perthjay, did the screen and/or ground announcer say anything to accompany that number, e.g. 'A new club record!' 'Congratulations Perth Glory/Thank you fans for taking us to a record amount' or some such? :-k

Clearly things like the HSG/Tinkler disaster has had an effect. I'd hold off criticism. Obviously sport on the Hunter has taken a hit and I reckon Knights will take a hit too.

They're good, but it is certainly helped by how cheap they are.

And the fact that we've beaten the number we're currently on either 2 or 3 times, is a huge warning signal because we're meant to be improving, getting better, increasing memberships and not losing them.

The on-field results are pretty much the sole reason we're down, unfortunately.

The numbers you have at moment are pretty good, especially how shit the Jets are playing ATM.

Jerks numbers haven't been updated for a while now. I assume this is laziness on the clubs behalf. I still don't expect us to have cracked the 10k though.
