Just saw a depressing program about child prostitution and exploitation in Brazil on ABC's Four Corners, one of the more reputable media outlets. Some in favelas are furious that money to build stadia could've been better spent on housing and sanitation.

Unfortunately, some paedophile tourism is occurring too with the WC.:twisted:

The problem was occurring before the WC, with domestic adult exploitation of minors. Often the favelas are juxtaposed with new football stadia.

As a parent and a teacher, it is traumatic and infuriating to see children exploited.:evil:

On another note, I've seen a lot more Brazilian tourists in Europe in the last few years, with some being the beneficiaries of a more affluent economy.
