Probably should have added re: my Adidas kit picture- We never actually played in that, did we?

As I understand that was the proposed design had we stuck with Adidas before the switch to Nike.

If the person who designed the kit is Australian they should be shot for treason. 

And why are the shorts yellow? I keep hearing its a FIFA thing about having one primary colour but off the top of my head I can think of half a dozen teams at the World Cup who had different short/shirt colours. SO WHY???

Yeah, that was my understanding.
Back in High School, I actually got bored after the 2006 World Cup and drew a set of "If the Socceroos stayed with Adidas kits" as part of my random doodlings. Got a bit of a surprise years later when I saw it pop up on eBay. And subsequently bought it haha.


Yeah, that's what I heard too. I know for the Euros a couple years back, many nations complied, but have subsequently thrown that out the window for the World Cup.
I actually miss the old black shorts from the 90s now.

I always thought the black shorts were horrible, never understood where they came from. Our colours are green and gold, should always be gold shirts with green shorts.

I'm really bored lately, so I'm making a database on my computer of every current logo to the best of my ability. Starting with NSW, going through every Association's first grade competition, and then moving upwards to State League and NPL. There's quite a few gems in there haha

Apparently WU kit, take it with a grain of salt though.

I have it on very good authority that this indeed their away kit, at present.

The home kit is supposed to be more traditional.

I feel like that kit would be okay - away kits have room for experimentation, but for a first ever kit I would want it to be a bit more traditional (even for an away kit). 

Clear to see they were inspired by Nigeria's kit that received high praise but it has nothing on that.

Yuck.

I think it's great how it draws attention away from how crap and uninspiring their crest is.

So I know some people were a bit salty that Western United took Team 11's colours, I think the general idea was that both Team 11 and South East Melbourne Phoenix would play in the same colours.

South East Melbourne Phoenix say this on their colours "The club’s colours are a striking mix of ash grey, referencing the ashes of the re-born Phoenix, accented with centurion green as a nod to the forested hills near its South East Melbourne base.It is highlighted by laser green, a bold and eye-catching statement colour symbolising the Phoenix as cutting edge, modern and focused on the future."

So really only the green has something to do with the local area.

I thought maybe if they're ever admitted to the A-league or NSD they could go with a Green and Blue kit similar to this...'cause apparently there's a creek in the ranges and blue = water..


alternatively the city of dandenong logo has green, red, and yellow.

So they could play in something like this

either way it's possible to maintain the green, and not looking too similar to Western United.

Not sure how important it would be for a new Mel team not to use a Vic AFLs team colours

Always thought Seattles kits were an eyesore tbh, those neon colours are a pretty aggressive contrast. Also think SEM might have missed the boat with a green kit after WU and (likely) Canberra come into the league before them with predominantly green colours. 


Now that just makes me think Preston Makedonija 2.0

Not sure how I would be able to make it a Wiki entry. But I'm getting a few of the logos from Wiki. Some clubs don't have logos on there though. I'm actually finding public facebook pages the best way to go.

On a side note, not trying to derail the thread to much, Griffith FC taking over from Rhinos, good thing/bad thing/no change?
The new logo is nicer than the Rhinos one though.
