You know your group is fucked up when Al-Qaeda doesnt want to deal with you. And I have found a lot of muslims I'm friends with are complaining about the treatment towards their community, which is fair, but they never condemn or distance themselves from these people. Hunting season of IS is open.

A small % of football fans are violent thugs. Guess we ban all football fans? A few % of men over 180cm are murderers. Guess that means we cull tall people? A small % people born on the 21st day of a month have comitted a felony. Ban them from society as well? Some brown haired people are racists? So ban the right to brown hair? The idea because a few people religious people do stupid things means we should take away everyones right to religious freedoms is illogical. Im not a religious person but to say I shouldnt have a right to become religious if i ever suddenly one day wanted to because a few religious people are idiots is absurb. Your examples are not based on faith or fantasy but actual real tangible things you can touch and see. Religion is belief based on faith. Faith is belief without evidence. In a 1000 years time they'll look back on the cretins of today and wonder how it was that so many, were so stupid for believing such absurd untruths.

Good luck finding Lebanese Christians involved in crime in Australia, this barely occurs. All the trouble makers are muslim, it is a part of their culture.
There was a stupid propaganda program on sbs recently titled "Once upon a time in Punchbowl". They mislead the public by presenting Lebanese muslim crimes and problems whilst showing images of Lebanese Christians going to church and the odd mosque here and there. The truth is, the muslims exclusively are the source of all the problems within south west Sydney. While I did notice that documentary focused mainly on muslims, ignoring that the majority of Lebanese in Australia are Christian, I disagree with "it's only muslims who are involved in crime", two of the arguably most infamous Lebanese-Australian gangsters are Christian, Michael Kaanan and Danny Karam. Christian Lebanese by culture. Means nothing really. Nail on the head. Those "gangsters" weren't exactly church goers. They did not use a book to justify their actions. And stiflersmom for someone as reasonable as you I would've thought you would he more careful in pedaling hate . But I guess muslims =terrorists . Not peddling any hate, as I mentioned, its Topical ATM, so lets get it out there. I have Islamic workmates, I play soccer with the cleric from the GC mosque, can't say they join me for a beer, we do go to lunch at work though, and have no problem with them. anyway ANDREW JEFFERSON wrote:The Bendigo council received 432 objections to the construction of the mosque, the majority relating to concerns over the influence of Islam, the threat of terrorism, the introduction of Sharia Law, and the dilution of Christian values. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/interstate-mosque-critic-wont-come-to-bendigo/story-fni0fit3-1226966811196 What is your actual problem with a mosque being built? If it's because you're worried about the supposed influence of islam then I genuinely feel sorry for you  What if someone were to raise the same concerns over the influence of Christianity with a church being built? StiflersMom wrote: Personally, anything that threatens mine and my families freedom and quality of life should fought with the highest aggression factor.
And for the record I am not racist, I am against religion, it has done nothing for this world but cause problems. /rant (for now)
Let me be clear, all Religions, but especially that which expect the whole world should be believers, or else. People can have their own ideas about whatever and are free to do so, that's fine, don't force it on me. I just don't see how the building of a mosque threatens you or your families freedom. It's not like you're being forced to convert to Islam. I might be wrong but I cannot recall anyone's freedom or quality of life being threatened by the building of a mosque. The building of a mosque impinges on your freedom and quality of life no more than the building of a catholic or orthodox church does, but for some reason I don't think you'd be on here complaining about a church being built nearby. The double standard of this is, if I were a Christian wanting to build a church or place of worship in most middle eastern countries, I face the same problems muslims face here when trying to build a mosque - if not worse repucutions. Muslims always play the victim card, but if you understood this history of Islam and it's place in the world you'd know better. Here's a tip. Educate yourself on all current events from both sides of perspective and do some research into the facts behind Islam and you'll see A LOT clearer about how backward and scary this religions ideologies really are.

Hunting season of IS is open. They can't, and for good reason. It goes against the principles of Islam. If you read the Quran, (I have) and follow it as muslims are ordered to do (I say ordered because the word muslim means to "submit" to the will of Allah), it tells people to carry on the work of a 7th century fanatical warlord, and live as he did back then. Yes, that is a simplistic view of Islam but at it's heart it is a very simplistic religion.

How come your type of Islam is better than their type Islam? How come your Islam is right and theirs is wrong?
Their type of Islam is not 'right' because everything they claim to be practicing in the name of Islam is a contradiction of what Islam actually preaches. It is like those lads who bought Islam for Dummies off Amazon. Read it and then believed that it gave them reason for fighting in Syria.
What makes you, or others, the gatekeepers of what is and wasn't isn't "true" Islam?
Being righteous, honest, kind, loving, caring, tolerant, accepting, non judgemental. All these and many more morally correct traits are what makes 95% of Muslims around the globe the gate keepers of true Islam.
Why is your imaginary friend better than their imaginary friends?
I didnt realise Muhammad PBUH was imaginary.
You and them are all Islamists. You're just a different flavour of Islam.
This is what gets me. You are not a Muslim. You do not understand the religion. You claim to. You claim to have this understanding because you believe what the media will publish and broadcast. You see a man in a middle eastern country yielding a gun claiming to be a servant of Islam and take his word as gospel. You do not need religion to tell you to be a good person. It is your right to not believe in any religion, no one stops you. You do not understand Islam, and by the sounds of it many other religions, yet you still believe that you have the right to tell me whether or not I am practicing my religion correctly or not.
I bet if you came face to face with one of these ISIS cockheads he'd accuse you of being a soft cock and not fervent enough, not devout enough and for all intents and purposes not a real Muslim. He probably would. But then i would just take the very sunnah and hadith by which he proclaims to be justified, and totally knock every one of his arguments out the park. He would have no Islamic basis to stand on.
In the last 600 years the Moslem world has added just about nothing to advance civilisation.
Yet many of our inventions shaped what we now call advanced civilisation.
If the mad middle Eastern types had no fucking oil the whole area would be a backward, stone hut living, eking out an existence, desert dwelling bunch of medieval animals. A skidmark on the underpants of civilisation.
Well, I would think that the area would probably be getting along just fine like every other country in the world that is not subject to western occupation.

Like Zimbabwe perhaps? Or the rest of Africa for that matter. Zimbabwe is not going through civil war. I don't see your point on that. Every other region of Africa that is plagued by war (which is very minimal) has western intervention. You will find that Diamonds, and Oil once again are the big factors.

Why should the vast majority of normal religious people lose their rights to freedom of religion over a few extremists?
Believe in fucking fairies at the bottom of the garden if you fucking want. I'll tell you what shits me about religion and particularly Christianity. You say it doesn't affect me, it doesn't affect you, so what does it matter? Well you couldn't be more wrong. Their influence (the crime as you put it) is everywhere. To list just a few ways Christianity sticks it's big fucking nose in my, yours and everyone else's business. 1/ Opposes stem cell research. (Specifically the use of embryos but other parts as well.) 2/ Is against gay marriage. 3/ Is against assisted suicide, euthanasia, and the right to die with dignity. 4 / Demands religious education be taught in schools and runs interference against ethics classes in NSW. 5/ Has the Lords Prayer read in Parliament at the beginning at every single sitting day despite the constitution specifically separating church and state. 6/ Opposes (specifically the Catholic church) the use of contraception resulting in MILLIONS of poor bastards becoming infected with AIDS in Africa. 7/ Psychologically scarred generations of women who were brought up to believe that sex was "dirty" and not to be enjoyed. You could go on for hours. Believe whatever you want to believe but get the fuck out of my life. If I want to take my own life rather than have a prolonged, protracted, agonising death then what's that got to do with the church. Fuck off. And yet who's the first cab of the rank when that sort of thing is brought up? That's right the friggin' church. Don't tell me they don't have sway over my life. They're crawling all over it.

But thats the institution of the church and not everyday Christian people of which many wont have all those views and many arent going to push all of those views on you. Again to smear every single religoous Christian as having those beliefs is compounding an issue to make it easier to dislike.
The other thing though is wanting to ban something simply because they disagree with you on a few issues is hardly democratic, tolerant or fair. I would probably side with you on most of those issues you mention but people do have a right to disagree.
Would also be interesting to see you address the article I posted.

How did a thread on the terror raids become a thread I to dismiss img religion ?? If you don't belive then that's your perogative . But to call every religious person out there nutters is another thing . Some people have reasons why they believe in god and for you to chastise them without knowing why is insulting

No one is holding back our evolution . If people want to believe then why is it so hard for some people to let them believe ? Does it effect you that much ?? Seriously ?? I still remember the day someone told me my religion was nothing more than Paedophile preachers and my child shouldn't be near me. A bloody week after I lost my father . I choose to believe on god, as that's the only thing that helped me through finding out he got brutally murdered .
