Haven't logged in yet but apparently Isaias is 300k. Great player who I'd have as DM in a real team any time but by the rules of the game not a prolific point scorer by any stretch :lol:

Yeah his price is ridiculous.

Keepers are so expensive, might play without one considering how harsh the points system is on them.

This. So many ups and downs on this, Madaschi is only a bargain if newy manage not to implode every game i.e sam Gallagher actually has negative points from his last season of fantasy :lol:

Supposedly the game is still a work in progress, so we might see a couple more changes to come.

As others have said, it's pretty tough this season. This is my current team but I'll probably change it about 10 times between now and the start of the season. This setup leaves me with poor depth though.

Fox sports have changed some players around and increased the budget by 300K, a lot of people must have been complaining

So is there going to be a 442 league?

Really annoyed they upped the budget it was going to separate the best from the rest very quickly. Besides it was much easier to build a team this year than last year IMO.

For me the salary cap seemed too easy this year.
This is the start point. I have a few changes to make over the next few weeks as I decide on players form, injuries etc.

Some people complained about the cap so they added an extra 300K. :(

Yep, but what sort of skill is there if everyone can pretty much afford any players and not have to be strategic in picks.

Precisely this is fantasy football not Fifa its meant to be had to build a team. By having a bigger cap it also eliminates the need to create team value which should be a major part of the game.

Torak, that team is insane! Absolutely shocked you've managed to get that.

Second guessing myself on Berisha. Really concerned that he is going to continue his manner of getting sent off.
Also made a few other changes too. Felt defence was too weak. Feel that i am more balanced accross the team now.

Keepers
Coe - Arguably has the best defence infront of him. Tough start with WSW, ADL & MC, but 2 at home. Probably the best pick of the keepers at $225k. Other thought is Moss at $200k, but likely to miss games with the All Whites.
Young (Bench) - Theo out makes this an easy pick. Hopefully pick up some value over the first 8-9 rounds and able to then trade to another starter as BU.

Defenders
Rose - at 200k is a steal, never scored under 90 points for the season. In the last 4 seasons he has scored 6 goals and had 17 assists.
Bojic - With the improvement of SYD you would expect a few more CS. On average over the last 4 full seasons he has averaged over 4 points per game.
Smith - One of the best defensive players in the league, gets forward and scores the odd goal. Averaged 100 points in his 3 full seasons. If he can do that again ill be happy.
Bench
Mcgowan - Easy backup choice at $100k. Looks to have locked down a starting spot, but wont be a big scorer in my opinion avoiding on field if possible.
Madashi - Same as Mcgowan, cheap playing bench player.

Midfield
Koren - Looks the goods in preseason, is a level above most midfielders in the comp and i think he will get quite alot of assists.
Broich - Nuff Said
Saba - Risky pick as i haven't seen much yet. From what im hearing is he will be the player that will set up alot of WSW goals.
Khalfallah - Looked strong the other day, after a few more preseason games he has the potential to be the link between Finkler and the Victory forwards
Bench
Gligor - Cheap bench player that should get some time.

Forwards
Sanchez - Looked good in preseason and gelling really well with the Adelaide Spanish contingent. Has a proven goal scoring and assist record in Spain. With the potency of Adelaide at 200k he is a steal.
Cirio - The player in the best form in preseason in my opinion. Cant stop scoring and most of adelaides attacks end up to him
Keogh - Probably wont be the standout forward, but he should be the end point for alot of Perths goals. However few they may be.

With the changes i made i reckon at worst i lose 50 points from Berisha > Keogh, Flores > Khal i think is even, Think i make 80-100 points up from the 3 defender changes.

where have you been finishing the last couple of seasons?

Never really focused on it, so didn't play it through to the end.
Always done the EPL average about 100k. Did my first proper SC this year and finished 200/215000

Is anyone else getting annoyed by the scoring systems of both comps??

Foxsports have created so many new ways to get points (shot, shot assist, recovery, block/clearance/interception) that (a) it takes (seemingly) a lot longer to update the game and (b) it is way harder to assess how many points players are getting as the game goes on. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I liked it when it was a more "classic" comp (like the EPL official fantasy game still is).

A-League official fantasy at least has a more classic set of ways to score points but have changed up all the values for no apparent reason.

I know there is no "official" way to score these comps but for mine the simplicity and consistency of fantasy leagues (until now) from various parts of the world was a distinguishing factor from the overcomplicated and arbitrary systems I've seen in other sports.

Will have a round 1 summary for fox sports fantasy when it loads up but it looks like the leader of the fozza competition is none other than K.A (and the bearded mariner)

Half my team didn't play. I blame Stubbins and Arnie.

It's been a tough year so far, so many players injured/dropped & now sacked with Madaschi but I'm still in 19th at the moment. Have already started to bring in PODs and will look to make my run through the upcoming DGWs.

I still think the worst thing they did was add an extra 300K at the start of the comp. It meant you could select the best team straight away and everyones had essentially the same team, the only thing separating 1st and 50th is captain choices.

I don't mind the scoring changes but something has to be done to shots on target in future, as its far to rewarding for someone who just takes pot shots ie Mooy, not to mention when a player misses a pen and its on target they also get a point which is just silly.
