One presentation was conducted by the Victory video analyst, Aaron D' Antino.

He divides the pitch into thirds and works on footage and data to present to the coaching panel.

D'Antino uses an IT program called Icode to do this.

He videos all games by Victory seniors and the youth team. These are viewed by all the coaching panel.

One of the things that Kevin Muscat was emphatic about , was consistency of approach from top level European practice to Australian practice.

Muscat has recently visited Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers , Ajax under Fran De Boer and Barcelona. Muscat is emphatic that the training ground methodology they use at Melbourne Victory is the similar to what they do at Liverpool, Ajax and Barcelona.


In terms of physical conditioning , Muscat, and S& C trainer, Anthony Crea, ensure all conditioning his done with the ball. No isolated running is ever done.

The first time I heard this, was through the KNVB Youth Training Certificate in 2008. Muscat was in the professional coaches group, in the group that undertook this education in the week before Possession Football and I undertook it.

Local coaches just attended a presentation by most of the Victory coaching staff.

It was a very informative evening.
