Will Torres be fit? I fancy our chances if you're without your only good player.

:d

 You'd love to have players the quality of Carragher, Agger, Gerrard, Mascherano, Babel and Riera in your team and you know it.
If we can get the points off Chelsea without Torres, Spurs should be no problem at all.

I'm really not getting the hang of this internet sarcasm thing. You've got some fantastic players, ad I know you beat Chelsea without Torres, and odds are we aren't going to win, but I just couldn't resist winding up a Pool supporter.

For those who are interested, I hope Spurs line up like this:

-------------Gomes

Hutton---King---Woodgate---Bale

Bentley--Jenas--Huddlestone--O'Hara

------------Modric

-------------Bent

Afro and mk, seeing as this looks like it is now the Spurs v Liverpool thread, what are Dossena and Insua like? And which is likely to start? I ask because I see your left side as a weak link (largely as I've never seen Riera, Insua or Dossena before tbh :d ) and Hutton, Bentley and Lennon of the bench could rip most sides to bits on form.

Just realised, in my preferred XI 9 out of 11 players are British  .

Not a bad idea that, hopefully they've got an extended cut of Fabregas crying in the arms of Wenger at full time. Anyway nr, how'd you feel about the game genuinely? Ready to pass it off as naivety again? The arsenal fans have been conspicuous in their absence from the forum lately :-k

god that game was embarrasing 4-2 in the 89th minute and we fucked it up. fabregas was idiotic in that game sanga came up to him asking for the ball to waste time and he fires in a crap corner, 4-3 down than fabregas decides to start attacking instead of just playing around. Wengers substitutions were a joke as well.

As has been stated, its inexperience. Fabregas himself came out and said 'i dont think we can win the league cause we are too young'

Ah, I craftily made you raise this point 8-[ (I didn't really, just wanted someone to make it).

Arsenal 4-4 Tottenham, 29 October 2009

Arsenal Starting XI Avgerage Age- 24

Tottenham Starting XI Average Age- 23

Arsene and Cesc talking bollocks about being too young

Anyways, imno, as a Pool fan think you could adress my above question? Insua or Dossena, and are they any good?

and look at their respective positions and aims, arsenal aimed to win the league whereas spurs main aim this season is not to get relegated

What nr said. Arsenal are too young to win the league. Thats what fab said. You guys arent 23 and winning the league. You guys are 23 and sitting at the arse end off it.If anything that stat backs up fabregas.

Insua wont play. I dont think. Hes never been a starter and i think he may have only played one game. Rafa said last season itll be a while before hes ready to slot in there aswell. Dossena is quick and can run all day. Hes not great defensively but the primary job of a LB isnt defending anymore so it doesnt matter. At the moment Fabio Aurelio is playing LB. Its been about half half for those two for the year. Itll probably be dossena because hes as quick as any of your guys. He does get caught out though which might mean the more defensive minded aurelio could start. Maschdog better be back. I can see him up modrics arse the whole match.

Insua isnt there yet. I prefer Dossena over Aurelio, he gets forward a little more and seems to have good chemistry with Riera.
Aurelio is good enough though

We'll be seeing this probs;

-----------reina------------
-arbeloa-carra-agger-aurelio-
------masch----alonso--------
--kuyt----gerrard------riera-
-----------keane-------------

But id like to see this. Dont think weve seen kuyt babel and riera in the same starting XI;

Aurelio is good enough though

Insua is still very young for a defender. Aurelio can cross but can't pass, Dossena can pass but can't cross. If we can get the two to have a love-chile that can pass AND cross, we're set. I prefer Aureio though.

We haven't because for some reason, Rafa won't start Babel.

Babel was away at the Olympics. Then he got injured. He came off the bench against Chelsea and did well. Rafa said he'd have a bigger part to play this season but that doesnt seem the case.

Kuyts just been playing good and we are undefeated so he doesnt want to change things.
Doesnt explain why he doesnt even bring him off the bench regularly though....

Yeah, we 'raid the daycare centre' as Spurs, yet when Arsene does it it's inspired youth development :-s

Good call mk, this'll be a very intriguing competition. Masch is a fantastic defensive midfielder, but Modric isn't as lightweight as is assumed and if he can hold his own Spurs may subvert expectations.

I'll go for a (very) optimistic scoreline of 2-1 to Spurs :d

I think it's mostly for lack of any real opportunity more than anything.

I've never said anything like that what Wenger was doing was clever or any of that. I don't rate him for shit for what he does, signing the youth of other countries to 'develop' them in the premier league.

Just winding you up mate, Carragher is a quality defender, one of the honest ones. Still, it was a very well placed header last night.

Got nothing to back this up, but I saw on a Spurs forum apparently he's scored 4 goals for Liverpool and 6 own goals for Liverpool

Well, he's scored four OGs that I'm aware of, so that's not entirely implausible. He'd be the only Liverpool defender to be in negative figures though.
