Bit of a put the pieces together type rumour, this one.
So after the game tonight I'm at a restaurant and who walks in but the god of football, Vince Grella (in an absolutely amazing light blue suit, mind you). Following him is Biraz.
I read only two weeks ago that Biraz changed player agent to Vinnie's in early November.
So this tells me that Biraz and Vinnie are working hard on getting Biraz out of the jerks.
Must say, out of all the footballer spotting or talking to I've ever experienced - sitting in the same restaurant as Vince Grella, my hero, is up there!

Guy I know (our sons are in the same team) knows Mark Birighitti's mum. He told me a week or so ago that Birighitti was very dissatisfied with being dropped. Who wouldn't be but adds slightly to this.

Would take him as second choice if Covic retires.
Bouzanis & Birighitti, would be good competition and probably not as expensive as Covic.

CBF starting a thread but there's currently at least one MLS scout over watching HAL games and looking at a relatively long list of players including Djite and La Rocca.
Also, one "starting Socceroo" is close to signing for an MLS side and it isn't Cahill.

Good shotstopper but very suspect from high crosses and coming off his line. Add to that he is precious little princess who constantly throws a tanty when things aren't to his liking.
Thanks for your services birra but goodbye

Edited by eastern glory: 20/12/2014 12:45:38 PM Franjic? McKay? Milligan? Juric? Rogic..? Really depends on how current of a starting Socceroo it is. Id say best bets would be Franjic or Bresciano/Holman with McKay/Nicholls as dark horses... What do you reckon? Edited by roary's mane: 20/12/2014 03:29:21 PM

Thanks for your services birra but goodbye Id be pissed off if I was a keeper and those were the defenders in front of me as well. Hes a great young keeper. Obviously not as good, but I always thought De Gea was a great comparison for him in how people speak about each of them as players. Difference is the patience afforded to the Spaniard. Biraz constantly dropped on the back of dismal team performances.

jlm8695 wrote:Ffs not Galloway. Already signed for Roar. Said hes keen to keep the player swaps rolling to ensure Roar and Victory remain dominant. Id say its more likely Franjic/Herd if it is RB. Or potentially Ryan McGowan (exposure from WC at RB for Cahills screamer) as they could be considered Socceroo first teamers for the sake of arguing. Would it be unwise for Ange to reward a youngish player (Nicholls or Mooy for example) leaving Aus to the US by giving them caps? I understand an older player going for the cash, but surely younger guys should be playimg here, japan, or europe?

A right back, I would say Herd is most likely. I doubt McGowan would be wanted by a MLS club. Franjic surely won't be moving clubs already. Wilkshire is the only other RB I can think of.

Not saying our defence is good or that Kennedy is a better keeper but a lot the mistakes he makes are his mistakes, not always caused by the defence.

If any keeper ever gets dropped for Ben Kennedy then they should really start considering an alternate career path. At the very least leave the club ASAP. Any club, no matter how rough your form is, that plays BK ahead of you shows the complete incompetence of the club and as such any or all of its players should try to get out asap. He really is a poor man's Necevski.
Grella has links to Italy so would probably be looking at getting him a move to a club in the serie B as a backup. Serie B would be a level ahead of Birraz to be honest and he needs game time. Serie C is not the answer so somewhere like Austria, Sweden or Denmark might be his best bets.

Either Birra is in the worst form of his life or BK could have (god forbid) improved. Wait no, that can't be possible. I've never seen a player improve before.

Yep, I didn't watch on the telly as I was at the game but apparently Fox reported he is signing/trialling with a Serie C club.

Better to be playing Serie C than being No. 2 GK in the A-League.
But still - 6 months ago he was picked in the Socceroos WC prelim squad and wanted by a Bundesliga club. Shows how quickly your fortunes can change in football!
