Months later, after the City lost 25% of the police force and violent crime went ballistic, the City had to partially re-instate the money they removed. Never mind the increase in murders, rapes, assaults, aggravtated burglaries, most in black-populated areas that happened in the mean time. All good now, they go the money back... To finish you're that stupid you don't actually see what would be wrong with your claim that the police wasn't defunded even if it were true. So I'll spell it out for you: It would confirm the entire BLM movement and Defund the Police had zero to do with black lives and police shootings and everything to do with getting rid of Trump. The article is written by the US-abc a leftist media outlet- I could have chosen MANY other sources that reported the previous funding cuts, but as biased as that article is, I chose it to deny the likes of you an easy way out. Of course, true to their politic beliefs, the abc deliberately omits the $8 million cut in direct police funding that happened in December. And predictably, contains not a word on the massive spike in violent crimes that followed the cuts and after the loss of 25% of their police officers. I never said the article was good... The city recorded 5,422 violent crime incidents, including homicides, rapes, robberies and aggravated assaults, according to preliminary year-end Minneapolis police statistics. That is a dramatic jump over the previous five years, which averaged roughly 4,496 such crimes. Property crime saw a more modest 10% increase.
