Some bizarre decisions last night. That two footed lunge on Timmy would have been given straight red with any other ref (except maybe Stebre).

I'm starting to take back what I said after last night's performance, in particular three events in the first half. Calling a foul on McKay when he crossed in for a potential goal, not giving a red card for that terrible tackle on Cahill, and the farce with the penalty.
The ref was also poor in some more minor instances, not playing advantage and calling a lot of soft fouls.

Ravshan Irmatov is one of the best referees in the World and you could tell in the Aus vs Kuwait game. Pure class.

Took a while before the players listened to him. Congrads on him not taking a backward step though, although there was still a general feeling of contempt towards him. Can't figure this one out (?) maybe being in Australia, Australian fans all around them pissed off at him cos he's Australian

Peter O'Leary gave his usual A League standard performance- soft free kicks, no advantage allowed etc

They seem to be doing their best to ensure the games flow as much as possible. I'm sure our organisers tried to make that a focus, as nothing turns ordinary aussies off more than stop-start, fake injuries and grass rolling. There's also that AFC "60 Minutes - Dont delay - Play" initiative.

Lots of dangerous tackles in game 2 and not enough cards imo

Took no nonsense with players falling to the ground. Gave yellow cards when deserved throughout the match. Was right on top of Kuwait and their time wasting even in the first half. Only possible criticism was maybe not giving some yellow cards to our players for diving in the box.
All up, he was great. How can we get this standard in the A-League? Maybe some sort of Exchange ref program.
