Dunno why I like Qatar so much. Probably there form surprises me a bit. Coach is good. There game tactic would be worth studying, it's unusual. Can't work out if they sit back or build up. I know they're 1. physical 2. good at milking penalties around the box. So they basically press, tackle like hell get the ball and then if they can't break down the defense and score, they start milking free kicks around the box, and they are proven score this way. One team we need to be better at with free kicks and corners.

Yeah would say it was. Quite a few commentators have said they are the Dark Horse of the tournament also.

But I think I noticed in the Gulf Cup they drew their group games finsihed 2nd in their group.
Never faced UAE in the Golf Cup once, as Saudi Arabia knocked them out in the semi. Qatar got lucky to win that, finished the worst to go through in the group stages, then won it.

But somehow they've been beating teams like Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Uzbekistan. Maybe the coach is wearing off a bit. They have not lost a game by this margin since September against Peru 2-0 and before that they were either winning or drawing. There strength would be their defense 23 Ahmed is usually solid as Jedinak. Farking falling apart this game. All these arab teams look pretty hit and miss as far as attack goes. Glad Ange's plan is far more consistent and solid

Yeah, not just that but for 2014 World Cup qualifying UAE were bottom of the South Korea, Lebanon, Kuwait group.

Thing is, on paper they have normally had decent squads for Asia. They were good in the 2013 Gulf Cup which they won, and spanked Qatar there too.

Still i remember in october last year we drew 0-0 with the UAE and four days later Uzbekistan smashed them 4-0 :lol: they are more of an unpredictable side.

Some atrocious goalkeeping there by the Qatarian goalkeeper. No excuses really for the first 3. Shocking defending overall by Qatar. They won't go far in this tournament.

The UAE will be the Uzbekistan of 2015 IMO (in terms of having a great tournament and possibly capitulating at the end).
