I think the writing has been on the wall for him since before preseason. I don't think he has been under any other belief either.

The club will let him announce his retirement on his own terms and he'll have a big standing ovation on his last game.

I just hope he is kept on with the club in some capacity. No-one has been as good a servent as he has during our 10 years in existance.

I am a Roar supporter but I rate Hutchison. Not spectactular , but steady as a rock and doesn't lose too many passes. One of the few originals who kept up with the standard as the league improved...many did not.

I reckon that's pretty fair.

Mariners facebook has come out saying it's a load of crap, but wouldn't surprise me if he pulls the pin after this season.

Some supporters love him, others think he's way passed it, but either way he's been a fantastic clubman and leader on and off the field.

The Mariners' Terry McFlynn. A good stalwart for the club. Can't not see the Mariners giving him a job behind the scenes if he requests it.

Hutch's form this year has been very solid - I was worried about him not keeping his legacy strong by playing through this season - but I reckon he is playing his best in the last couple of seasons. Its more than sentiment that keeps him here - he makes very few errors and is an inspirational captain and leads the dressing room.
