Hopefully the home fans will be a little louder than previously. Apart from the Melbourne game, the home fans have been pretty static and borderline disinterested at times (I was at all 3 games, and hold no city bias before anyone bitches).

I'm not sure about the rain, they been saying it going to rain all this week. Hasn't rained in the city all that much. If anything we will have a 5 oclock storm will be cleared up around 7pm. I don't think it will rain at the game itself.

Don't forget it still school holidays so i think there will be few more kids that what you think.

Anyway, going to get horribly drunk before the game, get in a solid 3 hours of drinking at the scratch.

6 extra train services inbound and 17 extra out bound, so will be a big crowd. News said last night it was a sell out, so that's what at least 48k?

Anything under 35k would be absolutely disgraceful. All Socceroos games should be sell outs especially considering we're now in the quarter finals.

I predict it will draw less of a crowd than the Socceroos vs Oman game, but people won't be calling it a disgrace as much as the Sydney crowd.

Korea is pretty shit, didn't think they would beat us tbh. The last time i remember Korea playing well was in the Semi Final and 3rd place match of the 2011 Asian Cup. They were woeful in WCQ and at the World Cup, i think they only got auto qualification for the World Cup due to having a better goal difference over Uzbekistan.

I wasn't too excited about our first 2 matches given how awful our opponents were but Korea had looked poor in the first two games. Outside of guts and character they didn't show me much against the Socceroos either

Why are you amazed?

Pretty sure they were beatable, considering our history with them.

Maybe if we had played our front 3 from the first 2 games we would be in melbourne now.

We were pretty shit throughout qualifying, but to be honest at the WC I wasn't expecting them to get through the group stage. I think we played pretty well up to the third game when we were already out. Korea weren't up against the calibre of opposition that the socceroos had to face on wc group stages.

Trying to be some sort of realist or voice of reason here aye? We were shit too, but at the World Cup we definitely looked better than Korea and in WCQ we had more better games than them, i watched 4 of their qualifiers and they were trash. But clowns here (Not paulbagz) were over hyping Korea like they are some powerhouse, Japan and Iran are the only teams that should be hyped in Asia at the moment.

Form wise they looked shit against Oman and Kuwait and have looked shit since 2011. I seriously did not see them grabbing 3 points against us at home. They fucken scored with 10men on the pitch at the time too

Korea only got a point in the world cup because of some shitty russian keeper spilling a long range shot for the blooper of the tournament

Sth Korea's best>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Our best. Son alone is better than all our stikers put together, when he is ill, Cahill included. And don't get me started on their midfielder captain who craps over any midfielder we've had in the past 10 years. Everyone of their players is technically superior to ours. Physically they made our players look small. They scored, they held out, they won. With a hard-arsed German coaching them, they'll be hard to beat.

Sorry they are not that much better than us. They have like what 4 players in Europe? I rate those four and a few of the players they have in Korea but the rest of them are nothing to write home about to be making such massive claims as you are.

They have been poor in the past 24 or so months. All the matches I have seen of them since the 2011 Asian Cup (About 12) they have looked crap. As a collective unit they are crap. As I said they have shown good character, however i saw more than enough reasons from watching them in the recent past to have been confident we would not lose at home to them. Which let's face it if it was not from poor finishing would not have happened. Good on them, I give them no chances of winning the tournament, don't even believe they will make the final.

Even on some Korean footie forums they think team isn't as good as it once was. They sure do have the talent though.

How did Australia go ?

Trying to be some sort of realist or voice of reason here aye? We were shit too, but at the World Cup we definitely looked better than Korea and in WCQ we had more better games than them, i watched 4 of their qualifiers and they were trash. Why are you amazed?

Pretty sure they were beatable, considering our history with them.

Maybe if we had played our front 3 from the first 2 games we would be in melbourne now.

Ange wanted to play the QF in a packed, full-sized stadium rather than a teensy weensy boutique one. Better preparation for the final.

It's 442... We all have to circle jerk about how amazing the Asian teams are, especially South Korea and Japan.

Yeah well if my aunty had balls she'd by my uncle.

The fact is when they were the hosts of a major tournament, the World Cup, they made the semi's. OTOH We lost to them as the hosts. So of course you would expect us to create chances, but we didn't put them away, they did.

And I still stand by their technical superiority over our players, where I'd rate us 8th out of the 8th quarter finalists. Their best are better than our best too. As far as European players Jedinak is the highest ranked and this team is due to be relegated. Our second highest Kruse can't get a look in beacsue of Son, who broke the dead lock yesterday in a high quality game when still ill.

We are not disagreeing that much, I just think they are shit as a team and overrated.

I agree with you on them technically, i agree we are technically the worst team in the final 8. I just feel Korea is not better than us and super overrated. Anyway, they have been given a gift draw to make the final now. Iran imo would have beaten Korea. Uzbeks were penetrating the Koreans a lot last night, both teams could have won it in the 90 mins of play.

My general point is that we are more than competitive no matter how over matched we are, look at the trash we had playing against Japan twice in the WCQ for 2014, Japan couldn't put us away due to our physicality and strength. It is a massive advantage we have over Asian sides. As a collective unit we have looked better than Korea, just so many holes in their game over the past 2 years.

The winner of the tournament will come out of Australia's half imo. What do you think?

Peace out bro
