Not soccer related (sports related though) but I spoke to someone recently that’s a mate of a famous Aussie sports scientist, and this Sports Scientist goes around privately telling people that “his best work” in the last decade has been helping a certain horse that's got an unbelievably great record on Australian and UK tracks.

Make of that what you will.

442 can be the ‘break’ for this story if it’s got any legs.

Wow, you have broken the biggest conspiracy story in Australian sporting history over the past 50 years.

Despite all the integrity and investigative agencies, full time sports journalists and competing owners/trainers who would have lost literally millions of dollars, the story has been broken by a friend of a friend of WaMackie.

This is what I make of it:

Idiots, people, especially in the UK, have been onto it for a while. It’s not ‘top secret’ information.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jan/13/black-caviar-peter-moody-horse-positive-cobalt

Moody’s Black Caviar was the sensation of Royal Ascot in 2012, when she maintained her unbeaten record by just a head after her jockey eased down prematurely. She was subjected to a routine drug test by the BHA on arrival and again, as a Group One winner, after her success but that did not stifle questions on the topic when steroids became a worldwide issue for racing the following year.

In May 2013, Moody angrily denied Black Caviar had ever had steroids and took a swipe at British racing, saying: “They bang on about steroids but they are the first to use Lasix when they campaign horses in the US. Maybe the poms might start looking at themselves rather than looking at us.”

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jan/15/doping-scandal-no-doubt-racehorses-were-injected-says-commissioner

While Racing Victoria was still investigating what happened to the horses trained by Peter Moody, Mark Kavanagh and Danny O’Brien, the commissioner, Sal Perna, said the focus would not be on whether the horses were doped but “how, by whom, and when”.

Five horses had returned positive samples, Racing Victoria said. Lidari, prepared by Moody, the trainer of legendary sprinter Black Caviar, failed a test after finishing second in the Turnbull Stakes at Melbourne’s Flemington track in October.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2013/apr/29/black-caviar-steroids-saga?CMP=twt_gu

Racing's ruling body has refused to release a form in its possession which would clarify whether Black Caviar was ever trained on steroids before winning at Royal Ascot last year. The great Australian mare, who recently retired unbeaten after 25 races, had her name dragged into the debate over steroid use at the end of last week when the British trainer Roger Charlton used Twitter to ask if she had been "treated with anabolic steroids during her career".

Moody denies peptide use
Posted 7 May 2013, 5:13pm

Victoria's premier trainer Peter Moody has moved to confront speculation he may be under investigation by racing authorities over the use of peptides on racehorses.

Moody, who was mentioned by British racing figures in the wake of the steroid case that has rocked the sport in the UK, unequivocally denied on Tuesday that his horses, including the champion mare Black Caviar, had ever been given synthetic peptides.

He had earlier rejected suggestions steroids had ever been administered to Black Caviar.

Thanks for showing you can use Google. The stories from 2013 were particularly enlightening (well they would have been if they weren't ancient news)

Follow up, this week, they've cleared the horse of cobalt (only) at this stage.

Black Caviar clear of cobalt in 2011 win

SydneyMonday 16 March 2015, 1:36pm
A sample taken from champion Black Caviar after her 2011 TJ Smith Stakes win has been cleared for cobalt.

Racing NSW stewards took the unusual step of publicising the result of the retrospective test to halt speculation the mare had raced with the controversial substance in her system.

Black Caviar's trainer Peter Moody is one of four Victorians involved in an investigation over illegal cobalt levels in horses in their care.

Moody has previously asked for all Black Caviar's samples to be tested to protect her reputation.

"We have had calls about Black Caviar so we decided to make it public," chief steward Ray Murrihy said.

"We have a lot of stored samples from a lot of horses that are being retested."
